The 2023 MLB season came to an end last night with the Texas Rangers blanking the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-0. The Rangers won the World Series for the first time in franchise history. Texas did so despite being a wildcard team in the American League.
The Rangers won 90 games during the regular season, but went perfect on the road in the postseason. With the end of the season here, it’s time to look ahead at the MLB betting odds to win it next year.

2024 World Series Odds
Atlanta Braves +700
Atlanta was the favorite pretty much all season in 2023. Ronald Acuna Jr is getting ready to be named the National League Most Valuable Player, but they didn’t even win a postseason series. For the second straight season, their divisional rival, Philadelphia knocked them out early. The Braves certainly do not need to make major changes to this roster, but some postseason success is going to be needed before long or folks in Atlanta are going to start getting a little frustrated. The Braves are preseason favorites at +700.

Los Angeles Dodgers +750
This team is always at the top of the list when it comes to winning a World Series. It seems this core is aging. Clayton Kershaw is no longer a front-end ace you can count on to carry your staff. Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman are still one of the best offensive combinations in all of Major League Baseball. While they have other pieces, some youthful excitement would not be a bad thing to develop in Los Angeles. The Dodgers are +750.
Texas Rangers +900
The Rangers will come into the season as the defending World Series Champions. Bruce Bochy will be bad for another run, and this team will still be talented. It will be interesting to see what they do in the offseason to move this roster around. The Rangers obviously will take the offseason to celebrate and get healthy, but they know as well as anyone the challenges of the American League West. Texas is the favorite in the American League, and listed at 9/1 odds.

Houston Astros +900
Houston will start the 2024 season with a new manager. No longer will Dusty Baker be in the dugout for this squad. Houston was the defending champion, and came within one win of getting back. There still is a ton of talent on this Astros squad. Houston could work on some rotation improvements during the offseason. The Astros are +900 to win it all in 2024.
Philadelphia Phillies +1100
After reaching the World Series in 2022, and falling a game short in 2023, the expectations are obviously high for Philadelphia. What will this roster look like on opening day? Aaron Nola is a free agent, and most expect the Phillies will not bring him back. The offensive crew is great in Philadelphia, but a few more contact guys would not be a bad thing. The Phillies were very reliant on the long ball, which proves to be tough for a long stretch. The Phillies are third in the National League, at +1100.
New York Yankees +1300
The Bronx Bombers are on this list, due to their knack to sign big name players. If they can work some magic in the off-season, maybe this team will have a chance. Currently, the Yankees, and their roster are nowhere near worth a 13/1 bet to win the World Series. But, crazier things have happened.

Baltimore Orioles +1600
Baltimore was the best team in the American League during the regular season. The offense was there for the Orioles. The pitching leaves something to be desired. Will they be able to fix that in the off-season? That’s the biggest question mark in Baltimore. The Orioles are +1600 to take it down.
San Diego Padres +1600
Finally, the Padres. They round out the Top 8, and this gives them the fourth team in the National League. The Padres are still underdogs to win the National League West. This team still has talent from top to bottom. They will have a new manager when the season starts. Can they finally put it together and maybe join the Rangers on the list of “finally winning it all” at the 2024 World Series Odds?
