NBA In-Season Games to Watch
New York Knicks -6.5 at Washington Wizards; 227.5
Out of group B, both NBA teams have yet to win so far. The Knicks are 0-1 while the Wizards are 0-2. New York still has an opportunity, as they have more games to catch up to the Heat and Bucks at the top of the standings. The Knicks will need to get this win, and be on their way. The game in Washington will make this more competitive than had it been in New York, but the Knicks should win.
Milwaukee Bucks -8 at Charlotte Hornets; 234.5
Another Group B game. Milwaukee Bucks is looking to move to 2-0 on the NBA standings of the tournament. The Hornets have a chance to make a move in the group, as they are 1-1. Greek Freak and Dame Time seem to be clicking well right now. The Bucks should not have a problem, even despite being on the road in this game.
Boston Celtics -5.5 at Toronto Raptors
This is the first in-season tournament game for the Raptors. For the Celtics, this will be game 2. The Celtics smacked the Nets in their first in-season tournament game. Boston Celtics appears to be the class of the Eastern Conference, so going on the road north of the border should not be an issue for Jayson Tatum and his squad.
Philadelphia 76ers +1 at Atlanta Hawks; 233.5
Out of Group A, the 76ers have the talent to win the group, but trail Indiana by a game now following their loss earlier in the NBA schedule. The 76ers get the Hawks, who won their lone game in the tournament. The Hawks have the youth and the talent and can score Despite being a small betting underdog, the guard play of the Hawks wins this game.
Sacramento Kings -6 at San Antonio Spurs
Out of the Western Conference, Wemby and his San Antonio Spurs have yet to win an in-season tournament game yet. The Kings come in with a win in their first game in the tournament. Sacramento got De’Aaron Fox back, and they seem to be in good shape. Look for the Kings, with their experience to outlast the Spurs, in San Antonio on Friday.
Detroit Pistons +10.5 at Cleveland Cavaliers; 224.5
We are finding out pretty quickly this NBA season that the Detroit Pistons just are not a very good basketball team. The Pistons are seeking to avoid a 0-3 start in the tournament. For the Cavaliers, this is their second game, and they are also seeking their first win. With the game at home, taking Cleveland seems to be the right choice here, but that is a ton of points to cover against a professional team.
Denver Nuggets -3.5 at New Orleans Pelicans; 220.5
The Nuggets and Pelicans are out of Group B in the Western Conference. It’s a pipe dream to think the Nuggets may lose this game. They are not going to lose this game. The Pelicans are talented, but not enough to beat the champions. When Denver wants to try, Denver plays really well. This is one of those.
Orlando Magic +2 at Chicago Bulls; 218.5
These two teams just played on Wednesday, and the Magic won at the buzzer. This was without Demar Derozan for the Bulls. He will be back, and the Chicago offense should look better here. Both these teams are out of group C in the Eastern Conference. Both NBA teams are 0-1 so far as well. With the Bulls being at home, that’s who we are taking, despite the Wednesday loss.
Los Angeles Lakers -6.5 at Portland Trail Blazers; 221.5
The Lakers are 2-0 within the in-season tournament. This would be a great opportunity for them to extend that. Portland is not really good, but 1-1 in the tournament. Look for the Lakers to struggle a bit, but eventually win this game. Do not be surprised if the pesky Trail Blazers keep the game close, and cover the spread.
Phoenix Suns -4.5 at Utah Jazz; 235.5
The Suns need to win this game. They are 0-1, and taking on a Jazz team that is 2-0. The Jazz have won their two games by an average of 11 points. The Phoenix Suns, when healthy, are going to be really good. This is a game that should jumpstart them a bit. Look for Booker, Durant and Beal to dazzle and the Suns win on the road.
Houston Rockets +4.5 at Los Angeles Clippers; 222.5
The Houston Rockets are looking to win their second game of the in-season tournament. The Clippers have been a mess since James Harden came to town. Does that surprise anyone? Despite their struggles, they get back on track here. The Clippers win a game at home over the Rockets!
