Replacement For Brickyard 400

The Brickyard 400 is a run on a 2-5-mile oval since 1994. In 2024, it got renamed back to Brickyard 400 after a few years known as Verizon 200.

The Brickyard 400 takes place on a combined road course and runs for 400 miles (321.9 km), using a newer, modified circuit layout that was previously used for Formula One Grand Prix.

As one of the newest races on the NASCAR schedule, Brickyard 400 is an enigma for both the rivers and sports bettors, who are looking to make their NASCAR race predictions.

But even though the drivers and we will need a bit more time to familiarize ourselves with the new race, the inaugural race in 2021 set a high bar for what the upcoming Brickyard 400 races should bring.

How To Read NASCAR Betting Odds

Before you can start betting on this NASCAR race, or any other NASCAR race, you need to know how to read NASCAR betting odds. This is a fairly simple process for anyone who has bet on motorsports before, such as Formula One, largely because you can bet on a NASCAR race pretty much the same way as you would bet on F1.

But if you haven’t, there are just a few things you need to know, most importantly, how to read the odds format. Depending on which bookmaker you will bet on, the NASCAR betting odds will be written in one of three formats – American, Decimal, or Fractional.

The three show the same thing, albeit in a different ways. For example, if you want to bet on Martin Truex Jr. to win Brickyard 400, the bookies could price him at +300 (American), 4.00 (Decimal), or 3/1 (Fractional).

Even though you should know the difference between the three, all online betting sites have an option for you to change the odds format to the one you prefer the most. So realistically, you only need to understand one odds format.

The second and most important thing you should know before you bet on a NASCAR race is which bet types are available. But even learning those is a simple process, knowing that there are only a few you will use while making your NASCAR predictions this week:

  • Moneyline – you predict who will win the race
  • Top X finish – you predict if a driver will finish inside the top 5, top 10, top 20…
  • Fastest Lap – you predict which driver will have the fastest lap
  • To win a stage – you predict if a driver will win a specific stage of the race
  • Head-to-head – you predict which of the two drivers in the head-to-head marked will be faster in a race

Futures Betting

Futures bets are a type of prop bet which entails betting on the future results of a certain driver or team. Common examples could be; will Ryan Blaney repeat as the NASCAR Cup Champion? Or which race team will finish with the most wins in 2024?

History of the Brickyard 400 Race

The race is held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which opened in 1909, and held its first NASCAR race in August 1994, the Brickyard 400.

The race was long regarded as one of the most exciting races of the year and has throughout its history moved around the schedule – from August to July and to September in 2017, when NASCAR and IMS agreed to make the Brickyard the final race of the season in a bid to improve its attendance.

But even that did not help its notable dip in viewership (from 200,000 to 35,000), which ushered in another date change, moving the race to the Fourth of July weekend, but to no avail.

In the end, the track and NASCAR agreed to completely revamp the race, ditching the old name for Verizon 200  and moving the race to the infield racecourse.

Fun Facts about NASCAR Brickyard 400 Race

The Verizon 200 was first introduced to the NASCAR Cup Series schedule in 2021 when A. J. Allmendinger of Kaulig Racing won the inaugural race. But interestingly, Hendrick Motorsports is the most successful team on the track, with third and fourth-place finishes from 2021, courtesy of Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott.

NASCAR Verizon 200 Betting tips

Chase Briscoe has the fastest lap at Verizon 2021, with Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and William Byron close behind. But despite his speed, Chase Briscoe finished the race in 26th.

For the next race, it’s tough to say who will be the fastest, largely because of the introduction of the NextGen cars. But it has become evident early on that Byron does enjoy driving the new cars and should be a threat to win the next Verizon 200.

Kyle Larson has yet to live up to the expectations in 2022, but he is still the defending NASCAR Cup Series champion and easily one o the most talented drivers in the field. Moreover, he usually does well on tracks similar to the Verizon 200, so it is not beyond the realms of possibility that he will be in the mix for a podium finish.

Kaulig won the inaugural Verizon 200, but Hendrick Motorsports was the only team with two cars inside the top-5. That, combined with the fact that Hendrick Motorsports features a very strong group of drivers, makes this team the most likely to produce a winner.

How To Sign Up At A Betting Site

Before you can place a bet on a NASCAR race, you need to have an account with an online betting site. Registering for one is very straightforward since it usually requires no more than a couple of minutes to find a bookie that will accept your NASCAR bets.

Once you find a sportsbook where you can bet on NASCAR, it’s important to check whether the bookie’s offer is solid and has good odds and enough market depth. If it checks those marks, then you’ve found a bookie worth creating an account on.

After you pick your bookmaker, you need to make a deposit if you want to place your bets. This step is fairly simple; however, remember to check if the sportsbook has any bonus deposit offers available.

Placing a wager is the simplest step you need to take when betting on NASCAR, but it might be hard figuring out what to wager on. That is why it’s wise to check the NASCAR picks this weekend and follow NASCAR experts’ betting previews.
