Curry went on to play 16 seasons in the NBA, with stints with the Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Toronto Raptors. He was the 1994 NBA Rookie of the Year. Dell is the father of Stephen Curry, who is the only unanimous MVP in NBA history.

Bimbo Coles was the Metro Conference Co-Player of the Year in 1988, as well as a three-time member of the First Team All-Metro Conference. He has the most points in Virginia Tech history with 2,484 points and second-most assists with 547 of them. Coles went on to play 14 seasons in the NBA, with stints with the Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Boston Celtics.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker was named to the Third Team All-ACC in 2019, as he was a huge part of the team that got to the Sweet 16 in 2019. He currently plays for the New Orleans Pelicans.

Top Coaches

Charles Moir has the most wins in program history with a 213-109 record, as he has the longest tenure as their head coach with 11 seasons under his belt. They had just two NCAA Tournament appearances with him as head coach, earning just two wins. They defeated the Jacksonville Dolphins 70-53 in the first round in 1979 and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 89-85 in overtime in the first round in 1980.

Seth Greenberg has the second-best record in program history with a 170-123 record. Greenberg took them to the NCAA Tournament just once, as they defeated the Illinois Fighting Illini 54-52 in the first round in 2007.

Buzz Williams went 100-69 in his five seasons with the team, coaching from 2014-19. He took Virginia Tech to three straight NCAA Tournaments, the first time that has ever happened in the history of the program.
