Advance to read mor of Missouri Tigers Stats.

The Tigers’ 2017–18 season was their first under new head coach Cuonzo Martin, who was hired from California to replace Kim Anderson, who was fired. Missouri’s men’s basketball team was a founding member of the Big 12 Conference, which was created in 1996 from the Big Eight Conference. The Tigers ended the 2020-21 season with an overall record of 1,655–1,182 and a winning percentage of .583 in their program history.

Championships Won by the Team

Missouri has been a very successful men’s basketball program for a long time, but they have not won an NCAA title. The farthest they’ve gotten in the NCAA tournament has been the elite eight, which they have reached five times. Missouri was named the Premo-Poretta champion in 1921 and 1922; however, that was prior to the NCAA tournament.

Missouri has won a conference tournament championship in eight different seasons while they have won the regular-season title in 15 different seasons. The last time Missouri has won a conference title was in 2012, as they won the Big 12 postseason conference tournament.

Important Team Events

Missouri is a very bland school when it comes to its basketball traditions. They have a Midnight Madness event that they do each year but do not have anything else that they do much on the traditions side of things for their basketball program. They are a very passionate fanbase, but they are more of a football school right now than a basketball school. As Missouri continues to improve its basketball program, it will evolve its traditions on the basketball side.

Their biggest rival in basketball is Kansas. They play in a game that is called the Border War. Kansas has dominated the series in recent years as they have won seven of the last eight meetings between these two teams. The series ended in 2012 before being picked back up this year as the teams met for the first time in nine years in December 2021. Kansas leads the series 173-96.

Missouri Tigers Stats Betting Statistics

Key Betting Terms:

Point Spread (Covering the Spread): This is a wager on the margin of victory by a team. You’ll see a point value assigned to the favorite (negative) and the underdog (positive). For example, Missouri +7.5 means they need to either win the game outright or lose by less than 7.5 points for your bet to win.

Moneyline: This is a simple bet on which team will win the game. The odds will be expressed in a positive or negative format, indicating the amount you’d win based on a $100 wager.

Futures: These are bets on long-term outcomes, such as Missouri winning the conference championship or the national championship. The odds will reflect the likelihood of the event happening.

Over/Under (Totals): This is a wager on the combined score of both teams in a game. You’ll see a total number set by the sportsbook, and you bet on whether the final score will be over or under that number.

Additional Terms (These may not be as common but are good to know):

Proposition Bets (Props): These are wagers on specific events within a game, such as which team will score first or how many passing yards a quarterback throws.

Parlays: A parlay combines multiple bets into one wager. To win, all of your individual bets must be successful. Parlays offer potentially high payouts but are also much harder to win.

Betting Trends

The Missouri Tigers have shown some interesting betting trends. They’ve been strong against the spread this season, exceeding expectations in games as underdogs. However, their offense hasn’t been translating to high-scoring affairs. In 2022, betting on the over/under for total points scored in Missouri’s games wasn’t profitable.

Player Performance

The Missouri Tigers are led by scorer Sean East II, who averages 18.2 points per game. Tamar Bates and Nick Honor are also key contributors, chipping in 13.3 and 10.8 points respectively. While rebounding remains a weakness, the team boasts a strong shooting presence from beyond the arc, averaging over 7 three-pointers made per game.
