One of the biggest fights set for the 2023 boxing schedule will be the super-fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia.
Boxing Schedule

Last Fight Record
Davis is coming off a spectacular KO win over Rolando Romero back in May of 2022.
Garcia is riding the momentum of a unanimous decision win over Roger Gutierrez in August.
Davis vs. Garcia Betting Analysis
Gervonta Davis
“Tank” Davis is a 27-0 dominant lightweight boxer that has made a great living by knocking most of his opponents out. He has some of the most impressive speed and power of anybody that has ever stepped foot in a ring at his weight class.
Davis has won 27 of 29 wins via knockout, with an average fight length of only 4.22 rounds. The generational talent that allows him to be both a counter-puncher and a hunter inside the ring is what makes him so tough to beat.
This is a fight to get ready for the Ryan Garcia super-fight in April. Davis can not afford to show up with anything less than his most focused self on Saturday night. This should be a good matchup for Davis, but he will need to show up at his best.
Hector Luis Garcia
Garcia has had arguably the most incredible past year in boxing. He has gone from being an under-the-radar boxing talent to a world title challenger. He had two upset victories in 2022 as an underdog, including a win over highly-touted prospect Chris Colbert in February.
This Dominican-born boxer fights behind a decent jab but mostly wins his fights with his constant pressure and physical style. He will look to bully the smaller Davis on Saturday night and bring this fight into the late rounds, where the skill gap can potentially be closed enough for Garcia to start winnings rounds.
Garcia has an underdog mentality and pretty much nothing to lose. This is the perfect opportunity for a fighter to leave it all out in the ring and try to make history. 10 out of his 16 wins have been via TKO/KO, but his power is not quite comparable to Davis’.
Updates
Gervonta Davis was arrested for domestic violence in the recent weeks leading up to this event.
This will be the first notable event on the 2023 boxing schedule.
Gervonta Davis vs. Hector Luis Garcia Betting Preview
Boxing odds have Davis as a massive -1350 favorite in this lightweight title fight against the underdog Hector Garcia (+750). Davis is used to being a massive favorite and knows that he can’t take any opponent lightly, even with betting lines like this.
Garcia has experience as a big underdog. He beat Chris Colbert as a short-notice replacement and big-time underdog last year. He is a much better boxer than these odds tell us. The way that Garcia can put pressure on his opponent and be durable throughout a fight makes this a dangerous test for Davis.
Gervonta Wants to Prove his Skills
Since Davis has averaged over 9 rounds in his last 5 fights, the over 7.5 rounds look much more appealing, considering the layoff time for Davis and how he is preparing for a fight in April. Davis might keep a lot of his weapons tight to his chest and not take any serious risks. He has even mentioned in the media leadup to this fight that he wants to prove his skills are world-class.
With virtually no value on a Davis moneyline pick, his method of victory prop of TKO/KO seems much more appealing. -350 is the best odds you will be able to get in a fight like this.
Gervonta Davis vs. Hector Luis Garcia Betting Prediction
After considering the styles that both of these fighters bring to the table, along with the skillsets of each, it is pretty easy to make a prediction of Gervonta Davis coming out victorious this weekend over Hector Garcia.
The Boxing picks are not very tough to make, with the skill gap being this large. The challenge comes when trying to find the most valuable bet to make. The -350 line for Davis winning via TKO/KO is going to be the best bet for this fight.
Davis has 25 KO victories in his career, and it just feels like another should be coming. This one might come in the later rounds, though, while Davis gets his feet back under him in the first half of this one.
With his Ryan Garcia fight coming up on the boxing schedule in April, Davis will be focused and prepared to go to war with Hector Garcia this weekend. He knows he needs to perform well in this fight before he can cash in on the super-fight.
