Ellie Scotney vs. Laura Soledad Griffa Betting Analysis
Ellie Scotney
Scotney is a British professional boxer with a record of 6-0, with all six wins coming by decision. Like most elite UK boxers, she started out as a very successful amateur. Winning the 2017 ABA Championships and had a decent showing at the 2018 World Championships. At only the age of 25, Scotney is now the IBF title holder and is heavily favored in her first title defense. She’s listed as 5’4 ½” (164 cm), but her reach isn’t listed.
She is the next female golden goose in line for Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Sport promotion after she signed a big long-term deal in 2020 when she started her professional career.

Ellie Scotney vs. Laura Soledad Griffa Betting Preview
The Scotney vs Griffa prediction is already shaping up, but we need to take a look at the available betting lines for this bout to decide what bet to make. Boxing matches like this one are tough to bet on because the hardest part of it is finding the right bet to make–one with a fair payout.
According to boxing odds, Scotney is coming in as the massive -1400 betting favorite over the +800 Argentinian challenger. There aren’t any more lines available, but you can assume the prop bets will be released later this week as we get closer to the fight.
Ring Movement Mastery
The next thing to do is watch the tape on both fighters. After breaking down the recent fights of both women, it’s clear to see why Scotney is the big favorite.
She uses her feet very well and is able to do so for all ten rounds. Her cardio sets her apart from most because she is moving around the ring in the 10th round, very similarly to how she is in the first. She fights out of the orthodox stance and fights behind a very solid jab.
Griffa is a very good boxer herself. She has some slick movement in the pocket and seems to be able to find the mark at a pretty consistent rate. The only issue with her is that she’s much older and has slowed down a bit since her prime. Also, her opponents haven’t been very talented in recent history.
Ellie Scotney vs. Laura Soledad Griffa Betting Prediction
After breaking down this fight in many ways, it’s time to decide what way to bet on this bout.
- The official Scotney vs Griffa prediction is that Scotney will get her hand raised and win this bout in a one-sided fashion.
It would be nice to see Scotney counterpunch Griffa because she has a lot of opportunities to do very well countering her. Griffa throws a lot of overextended punches and is not as fast as Scotney in the pocket.
But even if Scotney goes with her usual high-pace game plan and puts pressure on Griffa, the 37-year-old is going to have a lot of trouble handling that pace over ten rounds.
Before making your boxing predictions, wait for more lines to become available. The best bet will be for Scotney to win in a late-round stoppage.
