As the sixth week of Canadian football begins, it has become more clear who are the better teams. Many teams have continued to disappoint, while others have been a pleasant surprise.
At this time of year, on the CFL schedule, it could be hard to find other sports to bet on rather than the CFL. Betting on CFL is amazing, especially once you find the CFL Week 6 best bets!
CFL Week 6 Betting Preview
Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. Toronto Argonauts
Argonauts Odds Breakdown
The odds makers truly made an error with this matchup. This Touchdown Atlantic classic will more likely than not be settled by a field goal.
The Argonauts simply do not match up well against the Roughriders that have thrashed lower caliber teams such as the Argos.
The Toronto Argonauts always fail to score. They are on the lower scale when it comes to points scored in a given game.
Currently, the Argos average a league-low of 15 points per game. A team that is scoring that few points will not cover the spread.
Roughriders Odds Breakdown
The Roughriders could not be more on the opposite side of the spectrum. This team has flourished on both sides of the football.
They have scored 27.6 points per game and have one of the best offenses in the CFL. Their defense has also been able to get pressure and force turnovers at a high rate!
The Roughriders will most certainly be up on a show in Nova Scotia, and they will no doubt pull out a large win this week!
CFL Pick: Roughriders -3 (+100)
Ottawa Redblacks vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats
This has the potential to be one of the most lackluster games of the week. This matchup has Toilet Bowl written all over it.
Both teams respectively have no wins thus far this year. They have both struggled. There is some upside in Ottawa that is simply not seen in Hamilton.
Redblacks Analysis
The Ottawa Redblacks lost their QB1 Jeremiah Masoli due to a tragic injury. They’ve traded for Nick Arbuckle, who is no stranger to poor teams.
The team he got traded to is, in fact, marginally better. He now plays on a team that minimizes points allowed and passing yards allowed. With a solid defense, it could, perchance, allow more margin for error.
The Tiger-Cats have been on a long Grey Cup hangover. They have been playing quite poorly. Dane Evans has not been able to connect with his weapons, but he is very good at throwing interceptions.
Tiger-Cats Analysis
The Hammer town defense has been very poor. They have allowed 29.5 points per game which is the second most in the CFL.
Even if this game is a blunder, the Redblacks have a higher upside. While both offenses are turnover machines, the Redblacks defense will be able to carry this subpar offense to a miraculous victory!
CFL Pick: Redblacks (+240)
Edmonton Elks vs. Montreal Alouettes
The first game of the week is bound to be a high scoring one. One of the most explosive teams takes on the worst team in the CFL.
Alouettes Analysis
With Montreal’s ability to score, I wouldn’t be shocked if they eclipsed the total by themselves! Regardless of the offense, defense, or special teams, Montreal continually finds ways to score.
It doesn’t matter who is under center; Montreal tallies an average of 25.8 points per game. Montreal has had a tough start, but there have been flashes of scoring potential.
Elks Analysis
The Elk defense is among the league’s worst in every stat. They allow the most points per game, scrimmage yards, and rushing yards.
Their offense is bound to turn that ball over, and the Als defense has shown they can house it anytime they touch the ball.
This will be a lopsided affair, and the Als will do plenty of scoring. The Alouettes’ defense is mediocre, so we could see some Elk players find the endzone, but it will mostly be the Als dominating on Thursday night!
CFL Pick: Over 49.5 (-110)
CFL Week 6 Parlay Verdict
The best thing you could do is toss these CFL picks into a nice three-leg CFL parlay. If you were to put $100 down on the Roughriders spread (+100), Ottawa moneyline (+240), and bet the over on the Elks vs. Als (-110), your total payout would be $1198.18!
