The first of the CFL double header is in La Belle Province! The clubs tied for second in the East, and the winner could potentially take over that top spot.
With both squads missing key players, this could be an excellent game! Matthew Schiltz and the Hamilton TIger-Cats (3-6) face off in Québec to play Trevor Harris and the Montréal Alouettes!
Teams’ Previous Matchups
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are coming off a nice win against their divisional foe. They are tied for second in the East after that win of 34-37 against the Argonauts. They played a very solid game on the offensive end.
You should likely know how Montreal did last week. They did what many thought was impossible. Gary Stern showed up and was correct!
The Alouettes upset the undefeated Winnipeg Blue Bombers 20-17! What a time for the Alouettes
Tiger-Cats vs. Alouettes Betting Analysis
Tiger-Cats Analysis
As they take a break from their series against Toronto, they look to get some separation from their divisional opponent. With their star QB down, could they come back with another win versus the Alouettes?
Dane Evans will likely be out with this contest, so a familiar foe for the Als, Matthew Schiltz, will have to play for this game.
With dynamic players like Tim White and Steve Dunbar, they will pose a major problem for the struggling secondary of Montreal. The offense is very well balanced, so this could be tough goings for Montreal.
Inconsistent Defense
The defense has not been as consistent. The fact they allowed over 25 points against one of the lowest scoring offenses in the CFL is a huge red flag. The defense will not be an easy task, even if the offense puts up big numbers.
The question is whether or not this team can deal with injuries. The IR bug has infected the Tiger-Cats, and they cannot seem to redeem themselves. Will they be able to deal with the gaps in the depth chart?
Alouettes Analysis
DOWN GOES THE KING! The Als did what many, but not me, thought would be impossible. They have defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and are now riding high. This win could catapult them back into the postseason.
The offense seemed to be playing at a high level even without star WR Eugene Lewis. The re-emergence of WR Reggie White Jr. and Jake Wenikie has compensated very well.
Trevor Harris practiced fully, but Vernon Adams Jr. could still be an excellent substitute. This offense is deep, and they would be very satisfied with “the next man up.”
Undisciplined Defense
The defense’s lack of discipline has been truly killer. Their poor secondary play is also not superbly ideal.
The pass rush has done well at attacking the QB and getting pressure. If they can limit the flags, they can win by large margins!
The question is whether or not this club can be disciplined. The amount of flags this team takes is unacceptable and has caused multiple losses for this team. If they can limit their penalties, they will come out with a win, no doubt.

Tiger-Cats vs. Alouettes Betting Preview
The key to this game will be the red-zone success. While these teams are able to get into the endzone, they have struggled to maintain their presence in the RedZone.
Converting touchdowns with 20 yards is so important, and neither team can afford to settle for anything less than a touchdown!
The oddsmakers believe that the Montréal Alouettes will come away with a win! They are favored by 2.5 points. So could Hamilton pull off the upset?
Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. Montreal Alouettes Betting Prediction
My CFL picks lies with the Alouettes! Montréal will easily continue their unreal run. Regardless of their inconsistent defense, their offense is bound to explode this week with all their playmakers.
Hamilton’s QB Situation
Hamilton’s QB situation may not be too certain, and the Alouettes will play well-rounded. Montréal will carry their momentum into the next win and extend to a two-game win streak! Head to any online sportsbook that has CFL odds and bet Montréal -3.
CFL Pick: Alouettes -3 (-110)
