The countdown is officially upon us. Two bottom-ranked teams in the CFL standings face off on Friday night football! Neither of these clubs have clinched their postseason spot. This matchup does not guarantee either team a spot in the playoffs but it keeps them in the hunt in case of elimination. Both clubs have lots on the line this week!
Cody Fajardo and the Saskatchewan Roughriders (6-9) head to hammer town to face off against Dane Evans and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (4-10). This Friday night match will be excellent.
More on Tiger-Cats vs Roughriders betting down below!
Last Game Records
In Hamilton’s last match, they fell flat against the Montréal Alouettes in week 16. Their defense was solid as they held Montreal under 25 points, yet scoring 16 points will certainly make it difficult to come up with the win.
Saskatchewan fell flat on their face last week after a tough go against the toughest club in the league. An 18-point loss to Winnipeg is not good if they look to keep their home title hopes alive. The inconsistent play has been a regular occurrence for this team.
These teams have not faced since the kick-off of the 2022 CFL campaign. In that matchup, the Roughriders emerged with a 17-point victory versus the Tiger-Cats. In a pass-heavy first game, the Ti-Cats seek to even the score this year!

Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats Betting Analysis
Saskatchewan Roughriders Content
The Roughriders may not make the playoffs, but their GM refuses to wave the white flag. This club caught the injury bug, which has cost them many games. Their list of players questionable or out is concerningly long. But can they repeat the same success as they did with fresh legs?
Their key attribute in winning that first game was easily their monstrous defensive line! They were feasting all over Dane Evans as they tallied for a total of eight sacks between seven players. The Regina sack party will look to feast some more on Friday.
During their week one victory, their run game looked awfully weak. They totaled under 100 yards rushing. Their rushing leader this season, Jammal Morrow, will in fact, be out for this game so setting the line of scrimmage will be much more difficult than anticipated.
While looking at Tiger-Cats vs Roughriders betting, sacking Dane Evans is key. Even though they did a great job the first week and every week on getting their hands on the passer, that is how they will win this game. The more Evans is pressured, the more turnovers he commits, which is a lot, even without getting his hands on the passer.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats Content
The Tiger-Cats are technically still in postseason contention. With an abysmal 4-10 record, they still have a mathematical chance to play late into the season. The Grey Cup hangover has been real, and it started the first week. Could there still be some late-season magic?
The offense was not much of an issue during their first meeting. Two CFL picks aside, Dane Evans had a solid outing the first week. Dane threw for over 200 yards and one score. Is that amazing? No. Is it terrible? No. So there is reason to say it was a net good.
The defense was absolutely terrible. Allowing 30 points is bad enough in itself but the lack of numbers on the score sheet is just unacceptable. No sacks, no interceptions, and no fumbles. It is CFL stats just like that that prove why they are at the bottom of the barrel regarding the standings.
While looking at Tiger-Cats vs Roughriders betting, Dane Evans just has to limit his turnovers. The fact of the matter is that Evans is going to get pounced on this week. But if he can maximize his time of possession, they can win. Overall, they do not all look at that terrible without the turnovers
Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats Betting Preview
Friday Night Football will be at an exciting best, but what does Vegas think? The current CFL odds do, in fact, favor the home team Tiger-Cats (-132). The oddsmakers have the Roughriders listed as 2.5-point underdogs, so expect a close one!
Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats Betting Prediction
The Tiger-Cats have struggled immensely this year. Mostly due to the lackluster offense. Without Dunbar, the Ti-Cats are looking done offensively. With a mauling Roughriders defense, my CFL Pick is for the Roughriders to win this one. It is difficult to envision a scenario in which Hamilton wins as they match up poorly on both sides of the football compared to the likely postseason-bound ball club, Saskatchewan Roughriders.
