It is time to witness history as this will be the first ever Tour de France Femmes as 24 different teams will compete in the eight-day race beginning on Sunday, July 24, in Paris, France, and will conclude on July 31 at La Super Planche des Belles Filles with eight stages, 144 different riders consisting of 24 teams, and 133.6 kilometers to ride.

First Ever Tour de France Femmes
There is no history to go of as in June of 2021, the Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) officially announced they would have a new woman’s stage race titled the Tour de France Femmes.
This event will go on for eight days and really be the first time on the cycling schedule that the women have a similar event to the traditional Tour de France.

This is the first time that the event is happening, so this could be a unique challenge for all the participants.

It is hard to have a decisive favorite for the event as this is the first-ever Tour de France Femmes, but Annemiek van Vleuten has an excellent chance to win the event and should be considered the favorite.
She has dominated her opponents with a decisive victory earlier this month at the Giro d’Italia Donne and is one of the few riders to tackle both the French and Italian grand tours.
Elisa Longo Borghini Analysis
Elisa Longo Borghini has been one of the best women cyclists as she was able to pick up a win in the Women’s Tour 2022 in Great Britain.
She was able to sneak and pick this up as she never wore the yellow jersey at any time throughout the first six stages.
She said, “Now I am back to my normal level,” so she should be able to compete well in this event and be able to sneak up from the rest of the competition with incredible odds.

This feels like it is Annemiek van Vleuten’s event to lose, as she seems to be arguably the most skilled cyclist in the event.
The Movistar team seems to be the best in line to win, with some of the most talented cyclists teaming up to capture the historic first win, and that is where we should be betting.
I know it is the popular choice, but I rather follow everyone with the winner than suggest betting on a long shot with realistically no chance.
The only other cyclist I would consider is Elisa Longo Borghini because she has proven the ability to steal a race at the end on the last stage, and she’s finally hitting her stride this year.
