The Tour de France femmes 2022 is officially underway in the cycling schedule as the first stage is officially complete while the second stage is going on now.
Stage two was a flat surface, similar to the first stage, but more than 1.5 times the length clocking in at 136.4 kilometers. The stage went from Meaux through Provins and appeared to be testing the cyclist’s endurance.
Tour Femme de France Records
Looking at the finish of the first stage, Lorena Wiebes was able to finish first and was awarded the yellow jersey. However, there are a total of eight stages, so the leaderboard will continue to develop as the stages continue.
Tour Femme de France 2022 Betting Analysis
With a field as wide open as the Tour de France femmes and this being the first time in a while that the female side of this event is available, it will definitely be interesting to take a deeper dive into, especially as Stage 3 changes the terrain of the course entirely.
Let’s dive into some of the cyclists with the best chance of remaining close to the top of the standings in this event.
Lorena Wiebes Analysis
Lorena Wiebs seems to be in a great spot in terms of her positioning through the first two stages as she led after the first stage and was awarded the yellow jersey after the first stage, and is now currently sixth after the second stage. She finished with a time of one hour and 54 minutes and helped Team DSM get an early advantage.
Looking at the points classification, she is second with 20 points and is only trailing the person we will be talking about next. Wiebes is going to likely remain in a solid chance to not only make the podium when the Tour de France is finished but win the whole thing.
Marianne Vos Analysis
Marianne Vos has been excellent throughout the Tour de France as she is currently one of the most talented cyclists on tour.
She finished in second place in terms of the yellow jersey and third in the green jersey after the first stage, but Stage 2 has been one of the best showings of her entire career as she finished in first and now leads for both jerseys through two stages.
Vos finished Stage 2 with a time of three hours, 14 minutes, and two seconds and now has to be considered one of the toughest cyclists to dethrone here.
Tour Femme de France Stages Update
There are still five more stages happening, including Stage 3, which consists of a similar distance of 133.6 kilometers and an entirely different terrain with it, transforming from flat to a hilly surface.
This can affect where we should be placing our wagers, so today, we will look at who we should be backing for the remainder of the Tour de France at this time.
Tour Femme de France 2022 Betting Preview
The cycling betting odds are changing throughout the day as more cyclists finish the current stage and affect their total times. It will be interesting to see some cyclists continue to take the next step as the standings appear clearer.
Tour Femme de France 2022 Betting Prediction
It is no shocker to believe that both Lorena Wiebes and Marianne Vos will be at the top and competing for one of the three spots on the podium.
A few other cyclists in the Tour de France femmes have a very good chance to take a huge step forward in finding the podium and being a solid contender.
Silvia Persico Analysis
Silvia Persico has been doing very well and remains in contention for the yellow jersey after a not-so-great start in Stage 1, finishing in 14th place.
She had a great showing in Stage 2 with an extended distance as she was second in the stage and really asserted herself into becoming someone you need to keep your eyes on for the entirety of the Tour de France femmes.
