Overview
100 Thieves and Golden Guardians will clash in the opening round of Week 6 at League of Legends Champions Series (LCS) 2022 Spring in what promises to be a one-sided affair. These two LoL squads last met back on February 19, when 100 Thieves secured a convincing win, and based on what the latest betting odds suggest, they should go 2-0 up in the head-to-head.
But can Golden Guardians defy the League of Legends betting odds and take down the reigning LCS champions?
Last games records
100 Thieves enter this match with a 6-5 record, which is good for fourth place in the LCS standings. Obviously, 100T would have hoped to sit higher up, but they’re in a comfortable spot and in a favorable position to lock in a top-four finish before the playoffs.
Golden Guardians have not achieved as much this season, but they’re only one win below 100T in the standings. With a 5-6 record, GG have exceeded everyone’s expectations, and if they can find it in themselves to keep pushing, we might even see them reach the playoffs.
However, that might not be something people will expect from them, seeing how GG enter Week 6 of LCS 2022 Spring on a two-game losing streak with defeats against TSM and Cloud9 last week.

100 Thieves vs Golden Guardians Betting Analysis
100 Thieves Betting Analysis
They have not looked as good as many expected them to, but they aren’t terrible either. And when we say that 100T haven’t looked as good, it’s meant more in a sense that many people expected them to be higher up the standings.
That, however, mostly has to do with other teams – namely FlyQuest and Dignitas – performing much better than they were supposed to. So 100T are in a good spot and are still a very strong team; however, this is not a squad I like betting on when they’re the favorites.
100T are good enough to defeat any other team in the LCS, so they’re definitely worth a shot against the likes of Team Liquid and Cloud9. However, they’re also capable of losing against anyone, including Golden Guardians.
Golden Guardians Betting Analysis
Golden Guardians are priced as +175 underdogs for this match, which makes sense, but this team is often underrated. Admittedly, they have their flaws – namely, very iffy mid-late game – but Golden Guardians have had their moments this season.
Moreover, GG holds a 5-6 record, which isn’t too shabby, and don’t forget that GG won against Dignitas and Team Liquid at the end of February. How did they do it? With a very explosive early game.
Golden Guardians are very efficient in grabbing early leads, and sometimes they manage to translate that to a victory. Even if we look at their recent meeting with 100T, GG were in an excellent spot to win (and they should have won) but ended up losing in the late game.
Teams updates
Golden Guardians and 100 Thieves have not announced any missing players for this weekend’s match, so we can expect them to be at full strength.
- 100 Thieves have the third-best KDA (1-24) in the league
- Golden Guardians are fourth win GPR (0.52) and seventh in GSPD (-2%)
- 100T’s GD@15 (457) is the fourth-best in the league, slightly above GG (385 GD@15)
- 100 Thieves also have the third-best Gold Percent Rating (0.63 GPR) and Gold Spent Percentage Difference (GSPD 3.9%)
100 Thieves vs Golden Guardians Betting Preview
When 100 Thieves and Golden Guardians last met, 100T needed just under 33 minutes to seal the deal with 21-11 in kills and a 14k gold lead. It was a very dominant showing from 100 Thieves, but Golden Guardians did not just roll over and die.
GG put up a very respectable fight throughout the match, and they even had their chances to upset the reigning champions. But the difference in the quality of players really showed up as 100T grabbed small leads, which they then used to snowball the game.
More times than not, 100 Thieves should win this match, and the betting odds perfectly illustrate that. Even the sport betting information we have on the teams suggest 100T should win, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they will. 100 Thieves have not looked too good recently and have managed only two wins across their last five.
They won against CLG and TSM, which is nothing to get too excited about, whereas they lost against Team Liquid, Cloud9, and Dignitas, which is not convincing. That’s not to say that GG have been playing exceptionally well, but they have beaten Team Liquid and Immortals.
100 Thieves vs Golden Guardians Betting Prediction
100 Thieves are clearly a much stronger team and a squad that is bound to achieve a lot more by the end of the season. However, they’re not a good bet at the offered betting odds, especially considering that they’ve not achieved much recently.
As noted, 100 Thieves are a team that can defeat anyone, but as we already saw, they are also a team that can lose against much weaker opponents. Golden Guardians share the same trait as a team that is capable of causing upsets if they can gain leads early, but as proven last week, GG can also lose against much weaker squads such as TSM.
It is important to look for value when betting on esports, so if you’re looking for a value bet, Golden Guardians are definitely worth a shot at odds of +150 or better.
How to Bet on 100 Thieves vs Golden Guardians
Alternatively, you can also take Golden Guardians with a +6.5 kills handicap, which is a safer option, assuming 100 Thieves don’t completely stomp them. But knowing how quickly the games can turn on their head in the current meta, a moneyline bet on the outsiders is a better choice.
If you bet on Golden Guardians on moneyline and they upset 100T, you are getting a nice payout. However, if you’re betting on them with a +6.5 kill advantage, you’re essentially hoping that if Golden Guardians end up losing that they will manage to keep 100T within six kills – which is highly unlikely.
This will either be a complete stomp from 100T or a narrow victory for Golden Guardians, and we’re giving about a 60/40 chance for either scenario to play out; hence a bet on GG to win at +150 is a smarter League of Legends betting pick.
