Minnesota RØKKR and Toronto Ultra will clash on Friday, May 20, in the opening round of the second week of CoD Major 3 Qualifiers.
The esports betting odds show the two squads priced at almost odds, suggesting we should be in for a close affair, and according to Major League II performances, it’s hard to argue with that. Check the Minnesota RØKKR vs Toronto Ultra Betting Analysis.
Last game records
Minnesota RØKKR enter the second week of CoD Major 3 Qualifiers in solid form, having beaten Los Angeles Guerrillas (3-0) to kick off the qualifiers. But while a solid achievement, beating the Guerrillas is hardly worth celebrating.
Meanwhile, Toronto Ultra took down Seattle Surge (3-2) last Saturday to kick off their campaign on a strong note. Still, like RØKKR’s success, seeing Ultra defeat a team like the Surge hardly indicates that the former CoD Championship finalists are now a good team.
Minnesota RØKKR vs Toronto Ultra Betting Analysis
The online betting sites have RØKKR and Ultra priced very closely. RØKKR are slight favorites, whereas Ultra are at -110.
The offered CoD esports odds make a lot of sense since this should be a close affair between two teams that are good but not quite good enough to be considered as the main candidates to win the CoD crown.
Minnesota RØKKR
Minnesota RØKKR have not achieved much this year, and they were particularly disappointing at Pro-Am, where they placed ninth-12th. Even if we go way back to the start of the season, RØKKR didn’t show much.
They finished the CoD Kickoff Classic in fifth-eight. Qualified for the first Major in 10th place and finished in seventh-eight, and they couldn’t improve upon that in the CoD Major League II. They squeezed their way into the second Major in ninth place but crashed out of the event early, ending in ninth-12th.
But regardless of RØKKR’s lack of achievements, the team has been playing well. They were just a bit unlucky on more than one occasion.
Most notably, Dillon “Attach” Price is playing out of his mind and is easily RØKKR’s best player. He was also the main reason why RØKKR destroyed Los Angeles Thieves on Sunday; granted, LA Thieves aren’t playing that well, so we would take RØKKR’s success with a grain of salt.
Nevertheless, RØKKR have been showing improvement and are playing much better. And that’s very interesting, considering the weird roster changes the Minnesota squad has made at the end of April.
Toronto Ultra
Toronto Ultra were a force to be reckoned with last season, and they even made the finals of CoD Champs. But the Toronto outfit have not looked nearly as good this year, which is interesting.
It’s not like Ultra have made any major roster changes ahead of the 2022 season, but we have to acknowledge that the league is played on an entirely different game, which doesn’t seem to suit the Ultra. That said, the boys in purple have shown some progress of late.
Toronto Ultra kicked off the season with a Call of Duty League 2022 – Kickoff Classic, suggesting they will be just as deadly in 2022 as last year. But things quickly turned sour.
Toronto Ultra could only manage a sixth-place finish in Major 1 qualifiers and placed fourth in the first Major. In CoD Major 2 qualifiers, Toronto Ultra fell apart and finished 11th, failing to break into the top-eight at the Major.
Still, something seems to have clicked in the team at the recent Pro-Am, where Toronto Ultra made it all the way to the semi-finals, where they lost to the eventual champions, New York Subliners. It was a painful defeat, but we have to mention that Toronto Ultra should have beaten the Subliners.
And they would have, had Ultra not choked in crucial moments. This shows that Ultra are good enough to compete with the best. At the same time, we also saw that the team has a lot more work to do if they want to post consistent results.
Updates
There are no reports about either team making changes ahead of this bout, so we can expect the same four-man lineups to appear in the game.
However, knowing the CoD, there is a chance at least one of the two squads will look to try out something new, so make sure to follow their social media to be on top of any news.
Minnesota RØKKR vs Toronto Ultra Betting Preview
Toronto Ulta and Minnesota RØKKR last met on Sunday, March 13, during CoD Major 2 qualifiers, when Toronto Ultra won 3-1. It was also their first and only meeting since the CoD Championship 2021, when Toronto Ultra eliminated RØKKR (3-2) from the third round of the lower bracket.
Since that win, Toronto Ultra have played ten games and lost all but three (against Strike X, Surge, and Mutineers). Meanwhile, RØKKR have played just eight official matches over the same stretch and have produced just as many victories – against Paris Legion, Thieves, and Ultra Academy.
Based on their recent showings, it’s hard to pick out a winner for this match. Both teams are visibly struggling with their form, and unless they find a way to improve, Ultra nor RØKKR won’t be competing for the CoD crown.
Minnesota RØKKR vs Toronto Ultra Betting Prediction
When picking out a winner for this match, it really comes down to which team we believe will show up. Toronto Ultra have proven to have much higher highs, but they also have a very low floor. And their inconsistency makes it very hard to justify a bet on them.
Meanwhile, RØKKR have been slowly improving, but not quite fast enough. They have put up fights against some of the league’s top teams, but they have yet to take one step further to be considered as a competitive squad.
How to bet on Minnesota RØKKR vs Toronto Ultra
There is no telling how this match will go, and no result would surprise us. If we had to pick a side, Toronto Ultra look like a better team, but RØKKR have been gaining some serious momentum lately and shouldn’t be ignored.
