Gaimin Gladiators and Brazen are set to clash on Monday, June 6, in the opening round of the seventh round of ESL Challenger League Season 41. Gaimin Gladiators enter the match as heavy esports betting favorites, which does make a lot of sense, mainly due to their past success in the tournament.
But most of all, the Gaming Gladiators vs Brazen is a matchup between a proper team and a North American CS:GO stack that fields just three known names in Keanu “Danejoris” Reyes, Brennan “grape” Greer, and Jeff “RZU” Ngo. But history has taught us that any third-tier CS:GO tournament is filled with upsets, so perhaps Brazen might stand a chance against an objectively stronger opponent.
Last game records
Brazen enter this match with a 3-2 record and a -2 map difference, having beaten Team oNe (2-1), Unjustified Gaming (2-0), and ex-UYU (2-0). However, they weren’t nearly as successful against paiN Gaming (1-2) and ATK (0-2).
Gamin Gladiators have managed the exact same 3-2 record, with wins against paiN Gaming (2-0), Unjustified Gaming (2-0), and ex-UYU (2-0), and two defeats against GODSENT (0-2) and ATK (1-2).
Across their last six, Brazen have won three games, which is just as many as Gaimin Gladiators. Albeit, Brazen had to face weaker opponents, so we would take their figure with a grain of salt.
Gaimin Gladiators vs Brazen Betting Analysis
There is a very good reason why Gaimin Gladiators are priced at much shorter esports odds than Brazen. Even though the teams have achieved the same success over their opening five series of the CSGO tournament, Gaimin Gladiators are a far more established team.
So while we know what to expect from Gaimin Gladiators, there is little to no data on Brazen. Obviously, you should never underestimate a team, but there is very little to suggest that Brazen actually stand a chance against ESEA Cash Cup: North America – Spring 2022 #3 champions.
Gaimin Gladiators
Gaimin Gladiators have achieved a lot in recent months – at least relative to the expectations. They won the second and third ESEA Cash Cup: North America Spring, finished second at ESL Challenger at DreamHack Valencia 2022: North American Open Qualifier #1, and they claimed a bronze medal at ESEA Cash Cup: North America – Spring 2022 #5 a week ago.
They also had a successful run through the IEM Dallas NA Open qualifiers but could only manage a top-eight finish in the closed qualifiers. Those might not seem impressive results, but remember that Gamin Gladiators are a tier-three CS:GO team, so you can’t expect them to do well in Big Event qualifiers against the region’s top squads.
But even though Gaimin Gladiators have struggled in tougher events, they can carry their weight at this level of play. But unfortunately, they’re not consistent enough for us to tag them as one of the top teams at ESL Challengers League S41.
Brazen
Brazen first appeared in the CS:GO scene back in November 2019, but the team did not have a very stable history, often disbanding and re-establishing its division. Before March 2022, Brazen were last seen competing in December 2021, but since March, Brazen have played just eight official games, six of which in the last month.
Over that stretch, Brazen have won just half of their games against Team oNe, ex-UYU, and Unjustified. Most notably, Brazen are undefeated on Overpass and Vertigo and have a 75% win rate on Nuke. Stll, those figures mean little to nothing, mainly because Brazen have played just one game on Overpass and Vertigo and barely four on Nuke.
Updates
There are no reported changes on the side of Brazen, nor can we expect any further roster swaps at Gamin Gladiators. The team most recently parted ways with garfield, who got replaced by ex-Bad News Bears player Brendan “Bwills” Williams, who joined the team in April.
Gaimin Gladiators vs Brazen Betting Preview
The esports betting odds show Brazen as +333 underdogs for this match, which seems fair, mainly because they haven’t achieved as much as Gaimin Gladiators this year. But to be fair, Brazen haven’t had have a chance to do so as they’ve not attended as many events.
Moreover, Brazen are a stack rather than a team, so there is very little info on them, making it hard to find out more about this squad. But you won’t find on any esports betting guide you visit is that these lesser tournaments are filled with upsets, and the better team doesn’t necessarily come out ahead.
Gaimin Gladiators vs Brazen Betting Prediction
Gaimin Gladiators have achieved much more than Brazen this season, so it would make sense to bet on them to win on Monday. However, it’s not like Gaimin Gladiators are a very strong team, and they definitely aren’t very consistent.
They have picked up a couple of solid wins lately, but they have not produced enough for us to believe that they’ll crush Brazen. More times than not, Gaimin Gladiators should come out ahead, but at the same time, Brazen have shown enough for us to believe this could be a close affair.
How to bet on Gaimin Gladiators vs Brazen
Brazen have recently defeated Team oNe (2-1), they have scored double digits off ATK, and even took a map from paiN Gaming (1-2) two weeks ago. These small flashes of greatness don’t mean that Brazen are good enough to compete for the title, but they have proven to be very resilient.
We would side with Gaimin Gladiators at better odds, but it makes much more sense to take Brazen to win a map at the current esports odds.
Prediction: Brazen +1.5 maps
