The sixth season of the Overwatch League is approaching, and while there are still no confirmations of when the season will begin, this is the perfect time to start thinking about Overwatch league betting, start analyzing Overwatch league stats, and get ready to place the first bets once the OWL odds become available.
Unfortunately, it might take a while longer before the Overwatch League betting markets open, as the tournament organizers have yet to announce the season’s start date officially. Moreover, many of the teams have yet to finalize their rosters.
But despite missing the official lineups, esports stats, and the esports schedule, we can talk about a few things.
When Does The OWL 2023 Season Start?
Dallas Fuel won the 2022 Overwatch League with a new-look all-Korean roster, securing the organization’s first OWL trophy. Although their success last season won’t necessarily translate to OWL 2023, it’s entirely likely that the Dallas Fuel will be one of the Overwatch League betting favorites. Yet there are no guarantees.
The “Rostermania Period” introduced many roster changes ahead of the 2023 season, with a plethora of teams making substantial changes in hopes of improving upon their showings in 2022 and contesting the OWL trophy.
Fresh Faces, New Challenges
All in all, the 2023 OWL season will look much different, especially with the new rule, which lowered the minimum required age to compete from 18 to 17, which should see many exciting young talents enter the league, hoping to make a name for themselves.
There is no official esports schedule for the sixth season of the Overwatch League, but it’s expected that the circuit play to begin on April 27. Yet even before that, the fans will get to watch plenty of action and gather valuable esports stats that will help them find the right betting picks.
The Overwatch League 2023 – Pro-Am, which started on March 23, will continue to run until April 9, featuring professional and amateur Overwatch teams showing off their new rosters, giving us a glimpse of what we can expect in the sixth OWL season.
Overwatch League Format
Blizzard has yet to unveil the official OWL 2023 format, but the game published has introduced many substantial changes to the competitive scene by introducing Contenders teams in the East.
In Asia-Pacific, South Korea, Australia & New Zealand, we will see a series of tournaments with open division and Contender teams competing to determine which 12 squads will compete in the OWL Spring Stage Opens.
Those will run until the region’s Spring Stage Qualifiers
The top teams from the Spring Stage Opens will advance to the Spring Stage Knockout, where they’ll fight against OWL teams.
In the West, the West Spring Stage Qualifiers will determine the seeding for the Spring Stage Knockouts and will see two teams qualify for the Midseason Madness.
The Summer Stage will follow the Spring Stage format, with the Western region entering the circuit play. In the East, the top Contenders teams will qualify for the Summer Stage Qualifiers.
Teams Competing In The OWL 2023
Even though the bookmakers have yet to release OWL 2023 betting odds, we know which teams will be competing in the league. Compared to last season, there are a couple of changes, with Philadelphia Fusion rebranding to Seoul Infernal and Paris Eternal rebranding to Vegas Eternal.
Moreover, the LA Valiant moved away from the Eastern region and will compete in the West in 2023, with Dallas Fuel making the opposite move, filling the vacant spot in the East left by the Valiant.

- Dallas Fuel
- Guangzhou Charge
- Hangzhou Spark
- Seoul Dynasty
- Seoul Infernal
- Shanghai Dragons
