Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Paris Major will kick off on May 8, 2023, and run until May 21, at Accor Arena in Paris, France. It will mark the final Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major before the CS:GO esports schedule transitions to CS2, making it one of history’s most important CS:GO tournaments.
With 24 teams entering the CS:GO Major trophy race, we can expect a fierce battle for the crown, but one question remains unanswered: Who will win the Paris Major?
According to CS:GO Paris Major odds, there are a handful of teams that have a solid chance to win it all, but as always, making Paris Major predictions is not as simple as betting on the favorites.
Five Strong Candidates
Esports betting sites have priced five teams as serious candidates to win the Paris Major:
Team | Odds |
G2 Esports | +300 |
Heroic | +333 |
Natus Vincere | +450 |
FaZe Clan | +500 |
Team Vitality | +500 |
So if you are looking to make safe Paris Major predictions, you would be looking at these five teams, yet given their performances this season, it’s not easy to decide on one of five possible esports picks. And it doesn’t help that some of the six teams have struggled to deliver in the months leading to the Major.
G2 Esports failed to qualify as Legends and will start their Paris Major campaign in the Challengers Stage. Meanwhile, FaZe Clan barely made it to the Major and will begin their quest for the title as Contenders.
Although both teams are much stronger than any other squad in their group, there are no guarantees they’ll make it to the final stage.
Natus Vincere, Heroic, and Team Vitality have all qualified as Legends for the Major, which makes their road to the top a bit easier. But that comes with an asterisk. Even though NaVi, Heroic, and Vitality don’t have to fight through the Contenders or Challengers, they’ll still have to deliver in the Legends stage, which is no easy feat.
A Handful Of Dangerous Outsiders
For those looking for a bit more longshot Paris Major predictions, there are a few CS:GO teams that might not get as much attention ahead of the Major but are worth a look at much higher esports betting odds.
Team Liquid
Team Liquid had a disastrous start to the year and barely made it to the Major, where they’ll start in the Contenders Stage. That won’t help their chances to win; however, this is still the same roster that reached the semifinals of Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023 in February.
Admittedly, they’ve since placed 13th-16 at ESL Pro League Season 16 and didn’t amaze with two third-place finishes at BLAST Premier: Spring American Showdown 2023 and BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: American RMR. But when Liquid finds their rhythm, they’re capable of great things.
Fnatic
Fnatic, who enter the Paris Major as +1400 outsiders, are another team to keep an eye on. They qualified for the Major as Legends and have had some moments of greatness this season, but they always seemed to fall flat.
Most notably, they placed 13th-16th at ESL Pro League Season 17 and could only manage a ninth-12th place finish at IEM Rio 2023.
Nevertheless, amid their shaky tournament runs, Fnatic have beaten strong teams, and if things fall into place for them – especially if the favorites slip – Fnatic could be poised for a deep run.
Who Will Win Paris Major?
If you’re wondering how to bet on esports and which team has the best chance of winning the Paris Major, there’s no clear answer. Even though the bookmakers have five squads priced as the favorites, the top echelons of competitive CS:GO have been very chaotic this season, with no single team truly establishing themselves as proper top dogs.
Not to mention that Majors are always filled with upsets, so there is no telling which of the top teams will crash out early.
- G2 Esports have admittedly looked the best in 2023 and are rightly priced as the favorites, but will they justify their tag as the favorites?
