The fourth edition of the tournament on the island begins on Thursday, October 27th and is played over four days concluding on Sunday, October 30th. The tournament is a standard individual stroke play event with a cut after the first two rounds.
Lucas Herbert is the defending champion after defeating Danny Lee and Patrick Reed by one stroke for his first PGA Tour victory. Players will battle for a $6.5 million dollar purse and important FedEx Cup points as the fall season nears an end.

Bermuda Championship Field
A weaker field is in store this week after many of the top players on the PGA Tour tested their game in South Carolina last weekend at the CJ CUP. Seamus Power is the only player in the field ranked inside the Top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
While the field is filled with unfamiliar names, it is an important tournament for those players who can grab important FedEx Cup points and a possible life-changing sum of money.
Power joins Garrick Higgo and Chad Ramey as recent PGA Tour winners in the field. Two-time major winner John Daly, playing on a sponsor exemption, headlines the names on the list. Daly has been spending most of his time on the PGA Champions Tour.
Another sponsor exemption was handed to Akshay Bhatia, who picked up a Korn Ferry Tour win earlier this year at the age of 19. Bhatia just missed his PGA Tour card and could grab temporary status with a high finish this week.
Port Royal Golf Course
The Port Royal Golf Course has been in play since 1970 after the original purchase took place in 1965. The layout was designed by golf course architect legend Robert Trent Jones. It is the longest course on the island, stretching 6,828 and playing as a par 71.
With the weather unpredictable, the course can be a challenge for players, with wind conditions continually changing and the threat of stormy conditions constant.
Brendan Todd fired a 24-under at Port Royal in the inaugural event in 2019, but the last two winners, Herbert and Brian Gay, carded 15-unders with a few rounds hampered by adverse weather.
Betting Favorites
Taking a look at the pre-tournament favorites, you’ll notice a good mix of American and International players. The Butterfield Bermuda betting preview highlights a handful of these favorites.
The 29-year-old Denny McCarthy is the pre-tournament favorite heading into Thursday’s action at +1400. It could be a big week for McCarthy’s golf career as he tries to pick up his first PGA Tour victory. McCarthy is a three-time winner of the Maryland Open and picked up a Korn Ferry Tour win in 2018.
Following McCarthy are a pair of international players in Adrian Meronk and Thomas Detry, both at +1800. Meronk is also a 29-year-old and has performed well on the DP World Tour this season with a victory at the Horizon Irish Open earlier this year. Detry is the No. 71 ranked player in the world, the highest ranking of his career.
Rounding out the Top 5 players are Seamus Power and Mark Hubbard, with odds of +2500. Power got some work in last week with a T49 finish at the CJ Cup and opened the new season with a T30 at the Sanderson Farms Championship. Hubbard is another Tour veteran with a chance to pick up his first PGA Tour win this week.
Conclusion
We end our Butterfield Bermuda betting preview with our favorite pick to win this week’s tournament. It is up for grabs as the past winners of this event have had five PGA Tour victories or less. The golf odds show there is no real favorite for this tournament, and could be a life-changing week for one individual.
The golf pick this week is Seamus Power (+2500). He secured the 2021 Barbasol Championship and has climbed the world rankings, and is the highest-ranked player in this week’s field.
