Some of the world’s best golfers head to Illinois for the John Deere Classic this week. We have a John Deere Classic betting preview and picks for the PGA Tour event, which is headlined by joint favorites Jordan Spieth, Sepp Straka, and Sungjae Im.

John Deere Classic Betting Analysis
29-year-old Aaron Rai comes off a great effort at the Rocket Mortgage Classic when recording a top-five finish.
The British golfer hasn’t been on the PGA Tour for very long, but he’s a capable golfer, and he doesn’t need to improve much to win the John Deere Classic.
He is a two-time DP World Tour winner, including the 2018 Hong Kong Open and 2020 Scottish Open, which is one of the main lead-up tournaments to The Open Championship.
Playing well in consecutive weeks isn’t easy, but we’re happy to back him, and who can’t root for a guy wearing two gloves?
“I just happened to be given these two gloves – the guy who actually makes them sent a pair over – and I got into the habit of wearing them,” Rai said. “Then, a few weeks down the line, my dad forgot to put the two gloves in the bag, so I had to play with one. It was terrible. I couldn’t play, I couldn’t feel the grip, so I’ve always stuck with the two gloves ever since.”
Rai has a +2000 chance to win, and golf digest predictions also give him every chance of winning.
We also like former John Deere Classic winner Glover. He needs to turn his form around, but he likes this course, and he could play his best golf.
Glover is a +5000 chance with the sportsbook, so bettors get value odds for the risk.
Dunlap is paying +3300 to win, and the 20-year-old has been threatening to win his second PGA Tour tournament.
The American Express winner finished T10 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic last week, so he’s playing himself into form.
He might be one of the youngest players on the tour, but he’s well worth backing. Most of the world’s best players aren’t teeing it up at Deere Run, so that could leave a player like Dunlap to secure a victory.
Time is on his side, and much like Akshay Bhatia, he’s one of the brightest young stars in world golf.

John Deere Classic Previous Winners and Betting Trends
Straka is the defending champion, hence his +1600 odds to win in consecutive years. He’s playing well in 2024, so he can’t be ruled out, but he often plays his best golf in the bigger tournaments. J.T. Poston and Glover won the years before Straka, and they are in the tournament. We expect a strong performance from Glover, more so than Poston.
Spieth, who is also at +1600, won the tournament twice in 2013 and 2015. The two-time champion is struggling with his form, but we’re not surprised to see him at the top of betting markets.

John Deere Classic Betting Picks
Our John Deere Classic betting preview has Rai on top at a value price of +2000. He showed what he could do last week, and he had a chance to send the tournament to a playoff on the final hole. He came up short, but we don’t think his four-year winless drought will continue for too much longer, as betting markets suggest.
We’re also including Dunlap and Glover in our picks. Glover is a past winner of the event, and it could give him the boost in confidence he needs.
Dunlap is a rising star of the PGA Tour, so his generous betting odds can’t be overlooked.
Spieth and Straka are likely to be right around the top of the leaderboard. They are past winners of the event, and that holds weight.
