At 27, Young is a former Rookie of the Year who recently finished T9 at the Travelers Championship, trailing only Scottie Scheffler, and he looks ready to win.

Despite his impressive record of five top-10 finishes in majors, including a second-place at the 2022 Open Championship and a T3 at the PGA Championship, Young is growing increasingly frustrated with his lack of wins.

Having shot a 59 at the Travelers Championship to earn him a top 10 finish, we’re backing Young to win at +1400.

“I can’t say I was expecting it,” Young said about shooting 59. “I’ve been playing better than the results have shown. Waking up this morning, I wasn’t really thinking I’m going to be 5 under through four. It was a lot of fun to do.”

He’s long overdue a win, and he headlines our golf predictions this weekend.

Another player worth including is Akshay Bhatia, who also played well at the Travelers Championship last week.

He’s a good top five choice with Rocket Mortgage Classic picks, especially given the easier PGA Tour field.

With five years of experience on the tour, Bhatia is beginning to realize his full potential. His T5 finish last week, just four shots off the lead, is a testament to his growing confidence and skill.

Bhatia has two PGA Tour wins under his belt – the 2023 Barracuda Championship and the 2024 Valero Texas Open. Both victories came through playoffs, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure.

Given his recent form, Bhatia is well-equipped to excel at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Our third and final pick is Tom Kim, who went desperately close to beating Scheffler last week.

Despite the disappointment, the 21-year-old remains a good chance to win as the +1200 favorite.

Though the +1200 odds might be a touch on a low side, he’s a confident golfer who is worth including.

“I’m going to definitely look at this week as a positive,” Kim said. “ I had so much fun out there, felt like a practice round with (Scheffler.

“It’s just nice to know that the hard work kind of really does come to life. Like, yes, it would have been super sweet if I won, but it still doesn’t change who I am.”
