There is a selection of weekly horse racing betting options for gamblers this weekend, with top-quality action taking place just seven days removed from the Preakness Stakes. Pennine Ridge Stakes
The G2 Pennine Ridge Stakes is the only graded race to be taking place in the United States on Saturday, with horses aged three competing over 1 1/8 miles at Aqueduct. This key race on the road to the Belmont Derby will secure the top three finishers a place in the huge race staged in June.
Irad Ortiz has been the dominant rider throughout the recent history of the race, winning each of the last two editions to take his overall tally to three victories. Triple Espresso could be an interesting contender to consider when assessing the weekly horse racing betting this weekend.
Last seen finishing fourth in the G3 Jeff Ruby Steaks, Todd Pletcher’s three-year-old shows solid form on paper with Seize The Grey taking third. However, Carson’s Run could be the most interesting runner in the race this weekend for trainer Christophe Clement.
The three-year-old posted a solid speed rating on his return when fifth in the Woodhaven Stakes, and there could be more to come from this runner now up in distance.
Irish 2,000 Guineas
One of the most important horse racing events this weekend will take place at the Curragh, with the Irish 2,000 Guineas taking place just three weeks after the British equivalent. Aidan O’Brien will once again hold an extremely solid hand for this Group 1 in Ireland after training the winner of the race on 12 previous occasions.
Igor Stravinsky could be one of the leading O’Brien chances this weekend after winning on each of his two starts to date. He breezed clear of the field over seven furlongs at Leopardstown on his previous outing to beat Apricot Ice by over two lengths. River Tiber could also hold solid claims up in the trip after chasing home Vandeek over six furlongs on each of his previous two outings.
However, Galen could be one of the runners that boast the best horse races odds this weekend. The three-year-old was last seen chasing home City of Troy over six furlongs at the Curragh, but he could be a solid selection for an in-form Joseph O’Brien yard on Saturday.

Irish 1,000 Guineas
The G1 Irish 1,000 Guineas will feature fillies this Sunday at the Curragh. Since 1922, horses aged three years have competed over a mile. The English 1,000 Guineas has produced four previous winners of the Irish race, meaning that could be an important form line to follow this weekend.
However, A Lilac Rolla could be primed to make a pleasing impression in this weekly horse racing betting event. The three-year-old got the better of Opera Singer over six furlongs last season, and she returned to action with a stunning display at Leopardstown on heavy ground to beat Kitty Rose by a head.
Porta Fortuna fits the profile very well in terms of the most likely winner this weekend. The Donnacha O’Brien runner was a very close second in the G1 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket, and she boasts plenty of Group 1 form after finishing second in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, and was the winner of the G1 Cheveley Park Stakes last year.
