Following two straight series wins, the Toronto Blue Jays are set to play the Baltimore Orioles at home on Monday night.
These two American League East foes are matching up for the first time this season. This should be one of the most exciting MLB matchups for the day!
The Blue Jays (35-24) are coming off a dozen-contest AL Central gauntlet. They did well during that spell, going 8-4.
To start to catch up to the division-leading New York Yankees – who lead the MLB standings with 44 wins going into Monday – Toronto will have to win games at an even better clip. They currently trail by 8.5 games.
It will be even harder for Baltimore (26-35) to gain ground. The Orioles are last in the grouping and sit further back from the leader than any other team in the bigs does at this moment.
They just split a four-game tilt with Kansas City, winning the last two games. Only Detroit and the Royals have fewer road wins as AL squads.
Right fielder Trey Mancini has been the O’s best hitter away from Camden Yards. He has a .287 average in 108 trips to the dish. Right fielder Anthony Santander and left fielder Austin Hays have combined for 35 RBIs on the road. They also lead the team in home runs in away ballparks, with Santander having seven and Hays four.
That trio has been the most important for Baltimore, as they lead the team in each of the major statistical categories. Still, the Orioles will need more production from their order.
Orioles at Blue Jays Odds
MLB odds favor the home team in this one, which is to be expected with their strength as a whole. Toronto is -1.5 on the run line at -142, while the Orioles are +116 to cover the spread.
On the moneyline, the Blue Jays are -295 and Baltimore a +240 underdog. The total has been set at 8.5 runs, with the over being -106 and the under -114 at the time of this writing.
MLB betting trends will tell you that Toronto is a strong offensive group. The team has a total .253 batting average, which is better than all but one team in the AL.
First baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. brings the pop, having slugged 14 homers and racked up 34 RBIs. Center fielder George Springer and shortstop Bo Bichette follow closely behind in the latter category. All three have been liable to strike out, as they’ve all gone down in that manner at least 42 times.
The effective offense is combined with one of the best pitching efforts at the game’s top level. The Blue Jays have a 3.59 ERA and have walked the second-least number of batters behind only the Yankees so far.

Orioles at Blue Jays Betting Preview
Alek Manoah, a second-year righty, will stand on the bump for the hosts. He’s been one of the best hurlers in the big leagues this year, having compiled a 7-1 record and a 1.81 ERA. Both of those marks rank within the MLB’s top three right now.
In each of his last four starts, Manoah has gone at least six innings and allowed two or less earned runs in three of them. The Blue Jays have come out on the right side of seven of his ten outings.
Kyle Bradish, who will start for Baltimore, hasn’t had nearly as good fortunes. He currently owns a 6.45 ERA and has only been credited with a win once this season.
If the guests are to have a chance, he’ll have to deal better than he has to this point.
Baltimore Orioles at Toronto Blue Jays Picks and Predictions
The pitching matchup makes this clear with MLB picks today. Baltimore will have to find a way to get to Manoah, which is obviously easier said than done. The Blue Jays should put themselves in a good position to start this set out.
When betting on baseball today, go with Toronto to cover the spread.
