The Philadelphia Phillies (20-22) and Atlanta Braves (19-23) prepare to battle in Game 2 of a four-game set in Atlanta on Tuesday.
Last Games Records
The Phillies took Game 1 of the series by a final score of 7-3. However, both the Phillies and Braves have endured eerily similar seasons up to this point.
Both teams entered 2022 with sky-high expectations. And both currently find themselves under .500 in late May.
The Braves and Phillies are both 2-3 over the course of their past five games.

Phillies at Braves Betting Analysis
Philadelphia Phillies Betting Analysis
The Phillies have struggled at times this year. There is no denying that. But they played a fairly balanced game on Monday against their division rivals.
Zack Wheeler was excellent on the mound. The right-hander spun 6.2 innings of a 2-run ball while striking out 10 batters. Wheeler did not issue a walk on the outing.
The Phillie’s strong offensive output propelled Wheeler and the team to a victory.
JT Realmuto stepped up on offense with two hits, including a triple. Rhys Hoskins only had one hit, but it went for extra bases, and he finished with 3 RBIs in the game.
Kyle Gibson (3-2, 3.98) will get the start on Tuesday for the Phillies. The veteran right-hander has been solid so far in 2022. He has endured a couple of extremely difficult outings, but he has been productive for the most part.
Philadelphia is close to inching over .500. That is the first step if they truly want to catch the first-place New York Mets.
Atlanta Braves Betting Analysis
The Braves keep struggling. Their offense is not getting the job done, and the pitching is lackluster. It is officially time to be concerned for the defending champs.
We could sit here and recap what went wrong against Philadelphia. But it is the same old story for this Braves team right now.
They gave up too many runs early in the game, dug themselves into a hole, and were unable to climb out.
Atlanta is 20th in both ERA and WHIP. Their pitching hasn’t been able to find any form of consistency. Meanwhile, they are 24th in batting average and 20th in OBP.
The Braves aren’t hitting or pitching enough. They certainly have the talent to turn things around, but we are almost in June, and Atlanta is still well under .500.
The good news is that Max Fried (4-2, 3.31 will start on Tuesday. The star left-hander has been one of the few bright spots for the Braves this year. He will look to pitch Atlanta to victory on Tuesday night.
Updates
- Philadelphia is 21-21 against the run line so far this season.
- Atlanta is 20-22 against the run line this year.
- The Braves are 7-15 against the run line at their home field.
- The Phillies are 11-7 against the run line on the road.
- Atlanta is 9-17 against the run line as a favorite.
- Philadelphia is 11-5 against the run line as an underdog.
Phillies at Braves Betting Preview
The Phillies and Braves tend to play competitive games despite their records. We could be in store for a decent pitching matchup with Fried and Gibson scheduled to toe the slab.
But Max Fried is one of the best pitchers in baseball. He should be able to give Atlanta a chance in this one.
Meanwhile, despite the struggles of the Braves’ offense, I like their chances against Gibson in this one.
Atlanta’s left-handed batters should be able to post some quality at-bats against Gibson.
Go ahead and roll with Atlanta in this ball game.
