Will Sy continue his winning streak? Or will Mitchell be able to shock the MMA world with an upset win?
Sadibou Sy Facts to Know
Even if you aren’t a big PFL fan, when you see Sadibou Sy on the MMA schedule, you should tune in. Sy is a Swedish former world champion kickboxer that has had success ever since joining the PFL. He has been to the semi-finals three times and finally broke through and won last year’s PFL welterweight championship.
Sy will try to keep this a kickboxing fight–knowing that pretty much nobody can outstrike him in the division. At 36 years old, Sy is coming into this week with a 14-6-2 MMA record with seven TKO/KO wins.
Shane Mitchell Facts to Know
Mitchell is a 13-5 Australian fighter that is making his second appearance in the PFL. He is looking to bounce back from a tough night against Nayib Lopez Miranda earlier this season and prove his spot in the promotion.
The Australian has an exciting style of fighting. Mitchell has finished 12 of his 13 wins and has gotten finished three times himself. This is a tough style to go against a very technical kickboxer, but Mitchell knows he needs to take chances to be able to beat Sy.

Over 12 fighters have been suspended by the PFL due to banned substances, according to multiple MMA news sources.
Sadibou Sy vs. Shane Mitchell Betting Preview
Before getting to the Sy vs Mitchell prediction, let’s see what the betting lines look like. MMA news is pretty slow in the PFL, so you usually have to dig pretty deep to find information on the fighters and even to find betting odds.
Sy is coming in as the massive -600 betting favorite in this one. Mitchell is humbly the +400 underdog, but with his aggressive style, he has more than a puncher’s chance to win this fight. There should never be a -600 favorite in MMA, but it’s understandable, given the resume of both guys.
After watching past fights of Mitchell, he has shown some pretty slick and dangerous striking. He uses his feet very well but, at times, looks a little too nonchalant if he wants to beat a guy like Sy.
There are no other betting lines available at this time, but keep your eye out for prop bets being released as the week goes on.
Sadibou Sy vs. Shane Mitchell Betting Prediction
After looking at this matchup from top to bottom and breaking down both styles these guys will bring to the cage on Friday night, the betting prediction is pretty simple.
- The official Sy vs Mitchell prediction is that Sy will get his hand raised.
Most likely, the fight will go to a decision because both men are very tough and will respect each other at the beginning of the fight, ultimately leading to a slow-paced striking battle. The kicks and the timing of Sy are going to be too much for Mitchell to handle.
Keep your eyes peeled for a TKO/KO late in the fight prop bet for Sy. He is skilled enough to slowly break Mitchell down in the cage and find his shot late. The head kick will be there if he capitalized on the right moment.
