There are two more race weekends and one more double-header on the 2022 F1 Schedule. Formerly known as the Brazilian Grand Prix until 2021, the 2022 Sāo Paulo Grand Prix is the last F1 Sprint Race weekend, giving us three separate events on three days to preview and make F1 betting picks for.
Obviously, Max Verstappen, Red Bull, and the RB18 will be our Formula 1 Brazil prediction and pick to win each session. However, there are more betting lines than just a race winner to explore. We’ll review all the info and betting trends, preview, and make Brazil Grand Prix predictions.
Brazilian Grand Prix Info and Analysis

- Venue: Autódromo José Carlos Pace
- Start Time: Sunday, November 13th, 2022. 1:00 P.M. ET

Autódromo José Carlos Pace
Whether you are new to Formula 1 or a lifelong fan, you know that every circuit is different and poses different challenges to the teams and drivers. The more you know about the Formula 1 circuit and cars, the better your insight, and the more successful your bets will be.
The home of the Brazilian or Sāo Paulo Grand Prix is the Autòdromo José Carlos Pace, commonly known as “Interlagos.”
Fifteen turns over 2.677 miles (4.309 km) make up one lap around Interlagos. The Grand Prix is scheduled for 71 laps for a total of 305.909 km. The F1 Sprint is scheduled for 24 laps.
Valtteri Bottas holds the in-race lap record, setting a 1:10.540 in 2018 in the Mercedes W-09. Lewis Hamilton set the fastest lap overall at Interlagos, setting a 1:07.281 in the same W-09 in 2018.
Formula 1 Sāo Paulo Grand Prix Betting Picks
With three separate sessions, we will make a Brazil Grand Prix prediction on the winner for each session. These picks are for the winner of each session only. We have more interesting picks with better Formula 1 betting value than our pick for each session’s winner.
Essentially and unsurprisingly, you’re about to find out that our picks for each session’s winner reside with the number 1 car. It’s Max Verstappen versus the field for our Brazil Grand Prix prediction.
Verstappen is listed at -200 odds to win the Sāo Paulo Grand Prix, while the field is listed at +160.
Formula 1 Sāo Paulo Grand Prix Qualifying Pick
Although Charles Leclerc and the Ferrari F1-75 are fantastic to watch on a single flying lap, we’re staying away from Leclerc as our fastest qualifier (+150). The Ferrari power unit’s turbocharger struggles at altitude, and we’re not going to pick Ferrari as the fastest qualifier.
This is where we would normally stay away from Max Verstappen and take Leclerc for our Brazil Grand Prix prediction. We’re not doing that this weekend.
If you are looking for a potential long-shot that could claim pole position, we’d think about Sergio Perez at +1600 or either Mercedes driver, both listed at +2200.
However, We’ll take Max Verstappen as the fastest qualifier at +150. You can also take Red Bull as the Fastest qualifying car at +110.
Formula 1 Sāo Paulo F1 Sprint Race Pick
To suggest anyone outside of the top three teams and their drivers will win the final F1 Sprint race of the 2022 F1 schedule is nonsense and wishful thinking.
Can Sergio Perez or one of the Ferraris win the F1 Sprint? Maybe. Is Max Verstappen inevitable? Yes. Unless there is a technological failure, penalties, or someone takes him out on the 190m dash to turn one, Max Verstappen has twenty-four laps to take the lead of the F1 Sprint.
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are the only two drivers not named Verstappen, given the F1 odds of potentially winning the F1 Sprint. Leclerc is listed at -200, while Sainz is listed at -200.
Nonetheless, our F1 Sprint Brazil Grand Prix prediction is that we’d be silly not to take Verstappen to win the Sprint, despite -600 odds.
Formula 1 Sāo Paulo Grand Prix Pick
If Max Verstappen has twenty-four laps to take the lead in the Sprint, regardless of where he starts for the Grand Prix, he has 71 laps to take the lead in the Grand Prix.
The F1 Sprint on Saturday sets the grid for the Sāo Paulo Grand Prix on Sunday. We expect Verstappen to be on the front row, have to fight to keep P1 through turn one, and will win the Grand Prix. Verstappen is listed at -225. Leclerc is listed at +550, along with Lewis Hamilton, who is a potential longshot to win.
Formula 1 Sāo Paulo Grand Prix Betting Trends
We have five betting trends and a Brazil Grand Prix prediction for each for your consideration.
Formula 1 Sāo Paulo Grand Prix Betting Trend 1
Our lock of a pick is not to take the number 1 to finish P1. Although, that’s pretty much a lock.
We like the top 6 and top 10 finishes for our betting picks. When it comes to top 6 finish wagers, we always look to Mercedes’ George Russell.
George Russell has finished in the top 6 in 17 of 20 Grand Prix this season. We recommend picking Russell to finish in the top 6 in Mexico City, and he did just that.
Follow the trend and take Russell to finish in the top 6 at -500. We’ll also take Russell to finish in the top 6 in the F1 Sprint at -600 odds.
Formula 1 Sāo Paulo Grand Prix Betting Trend 2
Red Bull Racing has won the last nine Grand Prix in a row. Although both Red Bulls haven’t finished on the podium in consecutive races, we like Red Bull to land both cars on the podium at +110 odds.
Formula 1 Sāo Paulo Grand Prix Betting Trend 3
So far, Red Bull has landed both cars in the top 6 in fourteen of the twenty Grand Prix. We’re taking Red Bull to land both cars in the top 6, listed at -275 odds.
Formula 1 Sāo Paulo Grand Prix Betting Trend 4
Mercedes have scored points with both cars in fourteen of the twenty 2022 Formula 1 Grand Prix. We like Mercedes at -350 to land both cars in the points.
Formula 1 Sāo Paulo Grand Prix Betting Trend 5
We are big Fernando Alonso admirers. We are not fans of Alpine’s reliability issues. Alpine is the fourth fastest car on the grid and should have a much more secure hold on fourth in the Constructors’ Championship.
If Alpine can keep their cars on the circuit, we like Alpine to land both cars in the points at -110 odds. Alpine has only scored points with both cars in ten Grand Prix this season. However, Alpine has had at least one car score points in seventeen Grand Prix.
Formula 1 Sāo Paulo Grand Prix Betting Picks and Prediction
The Ferraris will look quick in FP1, while their power units are expected to struggle at Altitude, especially in the Grand Prix.
We’re expecting a Max Verstappen pole position at the end of the qualifying, but the Ferrari’s and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton might have an outside chance.
Max Verstappen will likely win the F1 Sprint from anywhere on the grid. Can something go wrong for Red Bull and Verstappen to open the door? Yes. But Red Bull’s reliability hasn’t been a concern since the start of the season.
As for the Grand Prix itself, the Number 1 car will win its fourth race in a row, its ninth win in the last ten Grand Prix, and its fifteenth race of the season.
Max Verstappen is inevitable and is chasing the record for most wins in a season by percentage, spreading holding the record for most wins in a season outright.
This is a special season for Red Bull and the World Drivers’ Champion. Take Verstappen to win the F1 Sprint and Grand Prix.
