All season long, George Russell has flown under the radar due to the success of Leclerc and Verstappen. Russell isn’t exactly in the running for the championship, but he has sneakily produced a top-five result in every race this season.
Russell is showing he has the abilities to win, and the Mercedes car should fare better in Monaco than it has at other tracks this year.

Carlos Sainz is an extremely skilled racer, and as I said earlier, Ferrari has the best car for this track, it seems. It is not at all a longshot to expect Sainz and Leclerc to both podium, and at +175, I love the F1 betting odds for this pick.

Verstappen to Win (+125): Verstappen has won three straight races and four of the six races that have occurred this season. This is the most obvious and rewarding bet in all of Formula 1. Since the start of the 2021 season, Max has won exactly half of the 28 races that have been held.
Ferrari to Have Two Podium Drivers (+175): The line is too juicy on this one not to bet it. Ferrari’s 2022 car is built for this track, and both Sainz and Leclerc will be looking for redemption this week. If these two start on P1 and P2, I don’t see how this bet doesn’t hit.
George Russell Top Six (-225): Although you cannot bet on top five (you can bet on a top-six finish), George Russell has shown a trend of finishing top 5. In every race this season, he’s either finished fifth, fourth, or third. I like the top six finish better here as Russell has only podiumed twice this year.
Esteban Ocon Top 10 Finish (-150): Ocon has had a solid year so far, only finishing outside the top ten once. He has finished five of six races in eighth place or better and looks to continue his streak of top-ten finishes this weekend in F1 Monaco 2022.
Zhou Guanyou first DNF (+800): This is more of a longshot prop, but Zhou Guanyou has crashed first out of all the drivers in the last two races. Although Guanyou is a good driver, he is hitting an unlucky streak right now, and at +800, that’s a solid shot to take.
Charles Leclerc has never finished a race in Monaco: This is a trend I would not continue to bet on, but it is extremely interesting. In three races at his home Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc has NEVER finished the race.
He has three DNFs at Monaco and, despite starting in pole position last year, crashed on the first lap. I expect a big bounce back this year, but the trend is set; Leclerc has not driven well in Monaco.

The Monaco GP is tight and has very slow hairpin turns. As I stated before, the F1 odds are favoring Leclerc and Ferrari in this race due to the way their car is built this season.
I agree with the odds, and I like Charles Leclerc as a Formula 1 betting pick… However, that’s not my prediction for this week.
My best bet for this weekend’s Grand Prix de Monaco is George Russell to finish top six at -225. Russell has proven that he can hang with the big boys while in the Mercedes car and has finished top six in every race this season so far.
Monaco is a whole different challenge, but I expect the Mercedes car to perform well at this track, so I love Russell as this week’s Formula 1 betting picks.
