Formula E returns to Berlin this weekend for round seven of its eighth season of racing. The Carbon-Zero sport is the first of its kind and is bringing high speed racing and excitement all across the world.
The FIA Formula E Racing World Championship is going back to Berlin this week. Berlin has been one of the most important races in the Formula E championship over the years and this year is no different. Drivers in the most efficient and eco-friendly race cars in the world will compete for the seventh and eighth legs of this season’s championship.
Formula E Betting Picks
Formula E is the FIA’s electric car racing league and is headlined by the Mercedes-EQ Formula E team which leads the team championship standings. Mercedes (120 pts) is followed by Techeetah (105 pts) and Jaguar Racing (94 pts).
Formula E has 11 teams and 22 drivers, whereas Formula 1 has ten teams and 20 drivers. The Formula E series is known for its high-speed action, interesting ruleset, and net carbon-zero footprint. The drivers will race on both Saturday and Sunday, with the former being a counter-clockwise race and the latter being clockwise.
These races will take place at Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport on the concrete of the giant apron on the tarmac. Drivers will have to deal with the extremely grippy concrete and be careful with their tires and strategies. It will be interesting to see which of the leading drivers can push to the front of the pack.

Evans currently sits nine points behind Championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne. Evans has consistently been top two since his first three races of the year did not pan out. I expect him to bring the heat in Germany and push towards a race victory.

Jean Eric Vergne is a former Formula E champion and has looked great this season despite not having won a race yet. He sits in second place in the championship due to finishing every race eighth place or higher, and has finished on the podium in three of his last four races.
-Stoffel Vandoorne 7/4
Stoffel Vandoorne is a Belgian driver who is currently sitting in the lead of the championship. The 30 year old finished second in the Championship in 2019 but is now searching for his first Formula E championship. Driving for Mercedes has helped him establish himself as a name in the sport.
Formula E Racing Betting Trends
The Championship leader right now is Mercedes’ Stoffel Vandoorne who, based on some Formula E stats, holds a six point lead at 81 points. Although the Belgian driver leads the pack, there are three other drivers that could potentially steal his championship by the end of the season.
Jean Eric Vergne (75 pts), Mitch Evans (72 pts), and Robin Frijins (71 pts) are all within 10 points of Vandoorne and will look to best him at Tempelhof.
Nyck De Vries is the reigning Formula E champion, but I don’t expect much out of him the rest of the year. He may win a race here and there but I doubt it will be enough to get back into championship contention. De Vries is a 10/1 (+1000) underdog to win the Championship.
Stoffel Vandoorne is in first place for a reason, but I don’t feel taking him at 7/4 is worth it. I think a shot on Mitch Evans who has looked just as good as Vandoorne has recently is a better decision. Evans at 4/1 (+400) is a much smarter play.
Formula E Racing Betting Predictions
This race will without a doubt be a fun one. Every race in Formula E picks has excitement and drama thanks to the attack mode setting on the cars. The speed and sound of the cars is always delightful, and we’re in for quite a race in Berlin this weekend.
Stoffel Vandoorne is the favorite to win but don’t be surprised if Evans or Vergne step up their game and take a win here. The Championship is currently only separated by nine points between four drivers, so everyone needs to be on their A-game. My best bet is Mitch Evans to win the Championship at +400.
