The 2022 Formula E Jakarta Grand Prix will take place on June 4th in Jakarta, Indonesia. This is the first time the inaugural race has been held because of covid-19, and the drivers will be racing on the brand new Ancol circuit in Ancol beach. The 2.37-kilometer circuit will host the 22 drivers as they compete for the Formula E world championship.
2022 Jakarta Betting Picks
Edoardo Mortara
If it weren’t for Mortara’s two DNFs in rounds five and six, he might be atop the Formula E standings. Instead, he’ll be fighting for a chance to scratch at the heels of Vandoorne for the rest of the season. He’ll have to win multiple races to try to beat the current championship leader to the 2022 drivers title.
Stoffel Vandoorne
Vandoorne has been the epitome of consistency, getting at least seven points in every race but one this season. If he can continue to grab a few points or more each week, he should easily be the Formula E world champion. This weekend is a chance to prove he’s more than just consistent by winning a race on a brand new track.
Robin Frijns
This year Frijns has at least six points in six of the eight races. While he’s not the number one driver in the standings (he currently sits in fifth), Frijns is a skilled and experienced driver who’s still young enough to compete at the top of his game. I expect Frijns to race well as he’s finished in the top five in four of the last five races.
2022 Jakarta Betting Trends
Jean-Eric Vergne Top Three Finish: Until the last race, Vergne had placed top three in four out of five races. He’s been very dominant in the front of the pack but has slipped up a few times. I like Vergne to finish on the podium in Jakarta.
Stoffel Vandoorne Top Ten Finish: Vandoorne has finished every race but one in the top seven, much less the top ten. This is an absolute lock, barring any crash or electrical mishap with the car.
Mitch Evans is streaky: This is an understatement. In the first three races of the year, Evans only earned a singular point. Then he won two races in a row, followed by second place, resulting in 71 points in just three races. Since then, he has a fifth place and a ninth-place, showing just how inconsistent he is, but when he’s on, he’s on.
Don’t bet on Nick De Vries: De Vries is a good driver, and I’m sure he’s a good guy, but despite winning two races this year, he has five races where he’s placed ninth or lower. De Vries is not a bet you want to make.
Antonio Felix Da Costa Top Ten: Da Costa has finished eighth or better in five of his last six races. He had a slow start in his first two races but is doing much better right now. I like Da Costa to finish in the top ten at the new track in Jakarta.
2022 Jakarta Betting Prediction
Mitch Evans is one of the best drivers in the entire world when he’s on his game. He strung together three podium finishes in a row at one point this season but now has finished off the podium two races in a row.
While I like Evans’ abilities a lot, I don’t expect him to perform too well at Jakarta. The driver I expect to win in Jakarta is Robin Frijns. Frijns is so skilled and has been hot recently. He’s due for a victory this season, and a good showing in Jakarta should be expected for the experienced 30-year-old.
Best Bet: Robin Frijns to win +1000 in Jakarta
