The First Ever Miami F1 Race
A spectacular event is racing through Miami very soon! This weekend, for the first time ever, the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix will take place. The event is being held in Miami Gardens just outside Hard Rock Stadium at the Miami International Autodrome. The best racers in the world will race through Miami on May eighth, and you can find the best F1 betting picks right here.
Hamilton, Verstappen, Leclerc headline Miami Grand Prix
This season has been an incredibly exciting one so far and it will only continue at a brand new track in Miami, Florida. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is the season leader in points with 86, but the F1 odds have Max Verstappen favored to win the race right now at +105.
Max won the last race of the season as a favorite and will be looking to become the first ever racer to win the Miami Grand Prix. This is the first ever Miami F1 race, although it is the 13th different city in the United States to host an F1 race.
Ferrari leads the team standings followed by Red Bull close behind. It appears it will be a two team race for the Constructors Championship this year as Mercedes is close to 50 points behind Red Bull and Ferrari.
Miami Grand Prix Betting Picks
- Kevin Magnussen to beat Mick Schumacher: -220
- Max Verstappen to win: +105
- George Russell top six finish: -160
Miami Grand Prix Betting Trends
The three picks above are my favorite heading into the weekend at the Miami Grand Prix, and it has to do with trends I’ve been seeing this season. The first pick is for Haas’ top driver Kevin Magnussen to beat Haas’ second driver Mick Schumacher. Magnussen has finished ahead of Schumacher at three of four races this year, and I expect the veteran to thrive at the new track in Miami.
Max Verstappen did not finish two of the four races this season, but he won both of the races that he did finish. Max is the most skilled driver in F1 barring maybe Hamilton, and Red Bull has the fastest car this year. Taking Verstappen at +105 on a track nobody has raced seems reasonable to me.
George Russell at -160 to finish top six at the Miami GP seems like a lock to me. Russell has finished in the top five of every race so far this season and he’s only podiumed once. I’m expecting Russell to push for his second podium this season and look forward to seeing him race hard in Miami.
Other trends in Formula 1 this season include the fall of Lewis Hamilton. Almost everyone, myself included, expects the seven-time world champion to bounce back at somepoint this season, but I don’t anticipate it happening in Miami. Mercedes needs to get it together, and quickly, if they want to have any hope of claiming their ninth straight Contructors Championship.
Another trend to look at is Sergio “Checo” Perez’s race record this year. Despite not finishing the first race Checo is third in individual points and has finished fourth, second, and second in his last three races. Perez at -110 to podium is a really good bet that fits the Formula 1 trends this season.
Miami Grand Prix Betting Picks and Prediction
As stated before, my favorite picks of this race are based off of trends that have been occurring in Formula 1 this season. From Verstappen’s phenomenal racing to Ferrari’s lightning quick car, there’s alot of exciting things going on this season, but to look past the fanfare and find the best F1 odds and F1 betting picks, right here.
My overall best bet of the weekend is George Russell to finish in the top six at the Miami Grand Prix. Russell hasn’t finished below fifth this year and I know he’s going to bring all kinds of excitement and energy to the Miami International Autodrome.
Russell is competing with his teammate Lewis Hamilton but has beat him in every race this season. However, Russell is still +500 to podium while Lewis is +400. The bias is real, and that’s okay, because we’ll take Russell’s F1 odds all day.
