Bommarito Automotive Group 500 Pick Analysis
The IndyCar Series is back in action for the first time since July, as the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 takes place Saturday at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois. Though located in Illinois, the track is actually a suburb of St. Louis and is the fourth oval track IndyCar has visited this year. The 1.25-mile oval is a high-speed track, where the pole position time last year was under 25 seconds.
The IndyCar odds show season points leader Alex Palou is the favorite, although there are six drivers at +800 or less. Scott McLaughlin is the second betting choice despite being sixth in points. McLaughlin has led a series-high 405 laps this season. It’s been feast or famine for McLaughlin, however, as he’s finished out of the top 10 on five occasions. Palou has finished out of the top five just twice, which is why he enters the race on top of the season standings.
The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 betting preview is expecting a big race from Pato O’Ward. Despite cutting his chops on road course in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, O’Ward is solid on oval tracks. He’s never finished worse than fourth at World Wide Technology Raceway and has three second-place finishes. He’s chased Josef Newgarden to the finish line over several oval tracks, but the IndyCar predictions today like him to finish in the top three at +200.

Bommarito Automotive Group 500 Betting Analysis
Any time you’re looking at an IndyCar race over an oval, Newgarden deserves a look. He’s been solid throughout his career over the ovals and will be a contender here. O’Ward is another who you can’t overlook on oval courses. He’s sitting in fifth place in the season standings and needs to take advantage of races over several oval courses down the stretch.
The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 betting preview expects to see the usual suspects running near the front, which includes Newgarden, O’Ward, Will Power and Scott Dixon. Palou’s consistency makes it tough to leave him out, although he hasn’t quite shown as much on ovals as several of the others.
At the end, O’Ward should be in the top three at one of his favorite tracks. He’s raced well over the track, which should give him plenty of confidence heading into the race.
Bommarito Automotive Group 500 Previous Winners and Betting Trends
Dixon won for the second time at World Wide Technology Raceway by taking this race last year. Newgarden won in 2021 and 2022. He was a solid +250 favorite when he won in 2022.

Bommarito Automotive Group 500 Betting Picks
Bet Pato O’Ward to finish in the top three at +200. O’Ward has consistently been near the front of the pack in his previous races at World Wide Technology Raceway and there’s no reason to expect that to change now. The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 betting preview expects O’Ward to continue his success at WWTR.
