Scott McLaughlin started Nasvhille in pole position, but Kyle Krikwood’s excellent race restarts at the end of the Grand Prix secured his second race win of the season. McLaughlin finished second, while current Championship leader Álex Palou finished third, maintaining his lead.
Rather than serve as the primary race on Sunday, IndyCar partners with NASCAR at the Indianapolis Motorspeedway this weekend, racing on Saturday, with the Cup Series racing the same course on Sunday. Fresh from Nashville, Insiders Betting Digest has your Gallagher Grand Prix predictions for Saturday’s race.

Recent Results
With multiple trips to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the IndyCar calendar utilizing its Grand Prix configuration, numerous previous winners are in the field, including Spring race winners like Palou, Herta, and Pagenaud.
However, for Insiders Betting Digest Gallagher Grand Prix predictions, we’re focusing on the Summer race at Indianapolis, always focusing on the winners of the most pertinent races when we bet on motorsports.
IndyCar has run three NASCAR support races in the summer, starting in 2020, with three different winners from three different teams. Scott Dixon won the Summer trip to Indianapolis in 2020, while Alexander Rossi won in 2022.
However, the 2021 Summer Indianapolis race winner Will Power is someone to have in your top-five finishers this weekend. Power’s summer win in 2021 is one of four race wins on Indy’s Grand Prix circuit (2015, 2017-2018).

Will Power
Team Penske’s Will Power has had historic success on the Indianapolis Grand Prix circuit, winning four times since 2014. However, he finished 12th in the Spring 2023 race.
Power has five top-five finishes this season, including three in the last five races, and has seven top-ten finishes this season. He should crack the top ten and challenge for a top-five finish at Indy.
Àlex Palou
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Palou lead atop the IndyCar Drivers standings is 84 points over Josef Newgarde with four races remaining. It’s been Palou’s consistency and excellent form that has him among our IndyCar picks weekly.
Palou’s third place in Nashville was his eighth top-three finish this season, while he’s finished in the top ten in every race. Considering Palou won the Spring race at Indy, has seven top-three finishes in the last nine races, and 11 top-five finishes this season, he’s among our picks to finish in the top five at Indy and win the IndyCar Drivers Championship.
Scott McLaughlin
Team Penske’s McLaughlin would likely prefer to forget a disappointing 16th-place finish in the 2023 Spring Indy race but has been consistent this season, currently third in the Drivers standings.
McLaughlin has two top-three finishes and three top-five finishes in the last three races and has finished in the top ten in seven consecutive races and ten total times this season, and should challenge for a top-five finish.
Pato O’Ward
McLaren’s O’Ward finished second during the first Indy Grand Prix, his fourth top-five finish in the season’s first five races. Dixon has finished in the top ten in six-consecutive races following two sub-20th-place finishes, including finishing second twice.
Who Will Win The IndyCar Gallagher Grand Prix?
- Insiders Betting Digest is taking Álex Palou to win and Power, McLaughlin, O’Ward, and Newgarden to finish in the top five for our Gallagher Grand Prix predictions.
