This is going to be a great weekend to bet on sports as there are several big games set to take place. While there are going to be some big individual events on the schedule, some of the best action is going to be taking place in the NBA and the NHL.
There are just four teams remaining in each of those playoffs. Now is the time when the action really seems to start to heat up. You could also look at some MLB action, but the best bets this week will come from postseason action.
Here are four of the best bets for the weekend when looking at the matchups across the NBA and the NHL.
Miami Heat +9.0 vs. Boston Celtics
You don’t have to wait long for one of the best bets for the weekend, as the NBA Eastern Conference Finals continue on Friday night. The Boston Celtics host the Miami Heat. The home team is trying to even up the series before heading to Miami.
Jimmy Butler has been absolutely amazing so far during this postseason run for the Heat. And the Celtics didn’t have an answer for him in Game 1. Boston played terrible in the second half of that game. You should expect to see a better effort in this one.
The Celtics aren’t going to get down 0-2 in this series. But they are going to struggle to create some separation.
- Take the nine points and bet on the Miami Heat, but the Boston Celtics will find a way to pick up a win to even up the series.
Dallas Stars vs. Vegas Golden Knights: Over 5.5 Goals
Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals is set to take place on Friday night, and it should be a good matchup between the Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights. Both teams have been terrific so far in the postseason, and winning Game 1 is going to be extremely important.
Both of these teams are extremely physical, but they have also shown the ability to score goals when needed. It’s going to be a back-and-forth affair all series long, and the best offensive team will come up with a win in the series opener.
- Taking the over 5.5 total goals in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals is one of the best weekend bets to make on Friday night.
Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Lakers -5.5
Game 3 of the NBA Western Conference Finals is another of the best bets this weekend in the NBA. The Denver Nuggets have taken a 2-0 series lead over the Lakers, but the series has now shifted to Los Angeles.
Denver has been terrific throughout the postseason, and Nikola Jokic continues to set the tone for this team. The Los Angeles Lakers are a team that always seems to play better at home, and they are now facing a must-win situation on their home floor.
LeBron James has been in this situation before, and he always seems to respond in a big way. Denver is going to compete for 48 minutes, but they just won’t have enough offense in this game.
- Take the Los Angeles Lakers -5.5 as they roll to a big win over the Denver Nuggets.
Florida Panthers vs. Carolina Hurricanes -1.5
Game 2 of the NHL Eastern Conference Finals is set for Saturday night, and this series has already provided plenty of drama and excitement and good Best bets for the weekend. The Florida Panthers picked up a win in the series opener on a game-winning goal by Matthew Tkachuk in the fourth overtime period.
Both teams appear to be evenly matched, but the Hurricanes are the more complete team. Florida has been riding a big wave of momentum, but winning a second game in Carolina isn’t going to be easy.
Carolina was the betting favorite coming into the series, and there is now a ton of pressure on them to win in Game 2. Look for the Hurricanes to get off to a fast start in this matchup, and they should control the action the entire time.
- Instead of just betting the moneyline in this game, look at taking the Hurricanes at -1.5 on the puck line.
