Making a June parlay can be a tough task for sports fans who like having action across many different sports. With the NBA and NHL playoffs wrapped up, making a parlay bet involves being creative with professional sports. However, with some creative thinking, and willingness to do research on other sports, there are still some options on the board.
Here’s a look at a way to bet on sports Tuesday that will give bettors the option of assembling a June parlay on a few different sports.
Canada-Guadeloupe over 2.5 goals (-175)
The Canadian men’s national soccer team will be excited to open up group play in the Gold Cup in front of a home crowd in Toronto. Canada is coming off a strong performance at the CONCACAF Nations League, where they reached the championship match before falling 2-0 to the United States. The Canadiens had won their previous three matches this year, scoring two or more goals in wins over Curacao, Honduras and Panama.
Guadeloupe did well during Gold Cup qualifying. While the Gwada boys are due for a big step up in competition by taking on Canada. Canada will likely be motivated to make a statement after losing in the finals of the Nations League. This game will go just over the total. This is a better alternative to bet on esports.
Pittsburgh Pirates (+148)
Making a bet on sports isn’t an easy task. That is especially true when it comes to backing the Pittsburgh Pirates recently. Pirates pitcher Rich Hill hasn’t been able to make it out of the fifth inning during his past two starts.
Hill, however, has shown throughout this season that he is capable of stringing together strong performances. Pittsburgh, though, has lost 12 of 13 games due to a combination of poor performance and injuries. The Padres, however, haven’t been playing great baseball either.
Yu Darvish has a 5-6 record with a 4.84 ERA this season. Darvish has also lost his past two starts, allowing 10 runs in 11 innings of work. The Padres are 4-6 over their past 10 games. Pittsburgh will be at home for this one and will see the offense bounce back in a win.
San Diego Padres offense has had a hard time putting the bail in motion this season. The Pirates are 24th in the league in batting average at .232. San Diego also is 20th in runs scored, scratching across 4.35 runs per game.
Baltimore Orioles (-141)
Betting guides show the Orioles are heating up. Baltimore has won three straight games and are four games behind the Tampa Bay Rays for first place in the AL East. The Orioles will send Tyler Wells to the mound against Cincinnati Tuesday night. Wells has a 6-3 record with a 3.22 ERA and has struck out 88 batters.
While Cincinnati Reds has some talented young players, the Reds being in first place has more to do with playing in the weak NL Central than an indicator of where they are as a franchise. Cincinnati’s starting pitcher, 24-year-old left-hander Andrew Abbott has been a starter good for anyone looking to place a bet on entertainment for a good pitching matchup.
Abbott has a 3-0 record this season with a 1.14 ERA. In Abbott’s last start, a 5-3 Reds’ win over Colorado Rockies, he finished with 10 strikeouts in six innings of work. Abbott also allowed three home runs in the thin air at Coors Field last Wednesday.
This should be an entertaining pitching matchup where Baltimore Orioles will find a way to score just enough to extend its winning streak.
