NASCAR moves from California, heading to Las Vegas for the first of two stops at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on the NASCAR schedule. Kyle Busch didn’t take long to score a win for his new team, winning last weekend at Fontana. Busch is one of the betting favorites this weekend but also has a busy schedule, racing in the Xfinity Series.
Chevrolet rides dominate the betting odds and will factor into our Pennzoil 400 preview and picks. We’ll review the current NASCAR odds and recent performances for our Pennzoil 400 preview and make our picks for the Cup Series race this weekend.

Seven current NASCAR Cup Series drivers confirmed for the Pennzoil 400 have previously won Cup Series races at Las Vegas Motorspeedway.
Betting and fan favorite Richard Childress Racing-Chevrolet’s Kyle Busch. He is coming off his first win for his new team at the Pala Casino 400, won this race back in 2009.
Hendrick Motorsports has two drivers who have won recently in Las Vegas and will factor into our Pennzoil 400 preview. Alex Bowman won the 2022 edition of this race on the NASCAR schedule in overtime.
Bowman’s Hendrick Motorsport teammate, Kyle Larson, is featured atop every betting line you can find and won this race in 2021.
Team Penske-Ford’s Joey Logano will be looking to maintain his good start to the season. Logano is one of seven drivers to win multiple races in Las Vegas. Logano won back-to-back Pennzoil 400s in 2019-2022 and is among our betting favorites every week.
Further down the odds listings, RFK Racing-Ford’s Brad Keselowski (2014, 2016) and Stewart-Haas Racing-Ford’s Kevin Harvick (2015, 2018) have each won this race twice.

Breaking Down the Pennzoil 400 Race
Ross Chastain is leading the Cup Series in points after his third-place finish and leading the most laps at the Pala Casino 400. Chastain has looked on top of his ride this season. He is one of our picks to finish in the top five again this weekend.
Team Penske-Ford’s Joey Logano has to be a contender to finish in the top five in every race and will be a betting favorite every week in 2023. Logano Won, the First Duel at Daytona, finished a heart-breaking second at Daytona 500, and in tenth last weekend in Fontana. Logano’s form has been really good, and you can expect him to qualify fairly high in the order.
Three Hendrick Motorsports-Chevrolet drivers headline the betting odds, and any of the three can win this weekend.
Alex Bowman’s Impressive Track Record in the 2022 NASCAR Season
Alex Bowman won the 2022 Pennzoil 400, claimed pole position for the Daytona 500, and finished fifth at Daytona and eighth at Fontana this season. Bowman has the longest odds of our top seven but needs to garner serious consideration as a pick to win the Pennzoil 500.
Kyle Larson took pole position for Duel 2 at Daytona. For him, it’s been all downhill from there: Larson finished 18th at Daytona and 29th at Fontana. A betting favorite won last weekend. At some point, Larson, a preseason Cup Series Championship favorite, will break out and win. It’s a matter of when it happens.
Chase Elliott is normally found close to Larson in the betting odds every weekend and is a threat to win more often than not. While Elliott finished 38th at the Daytona 500, he bounced back in style, finishing second at Fontana. Elliott at +1000 is great value for a driver from a competitive team who can easily land his ride on Victory Lane.
NASCAR Cup Series: Pennzoil 400 Betting Pick and Prediction
We need to make some betting picks for our Pennzoil 400 preview.
We’re taking Kyle Larson, Ross Chastain, and Joey Logano to finish in the top 5 while we’re debating between Chase Elliott (+1000) to get his first win of the season or Alex Bowman (+2000) to go back-to-back.
