The Xfinity Series hits the halfway mark of the 2022 season this Saturday, May 28, when the world’s top drivers head to Charlotte Motor Speedway for Alsco Uniforms 300. It will mark the 13th race of the NASCAR 2022 schedule and the 45th iteration of the event. Let’s chek the Alsco Uniforms 300 Betting Picks below.
The 2022 Alsco Uniforms 300 will take place on the 1.5-miles quad-oval racetrack in Charlotte and will be contested over 200 laps. The race will use the same track as the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day Weekend and the Bank of America Roval 400.
Alsco Uniforms 300 Betting Picks
A. J. Allmendinger
A. J. Allmendinger is the current Xfinity leader and one of the most consistent drivers of the season. So it makes sense to talk about him ahead of every race of the 2022 Xfinity Series, at least until he starts showing signs of slowing down.
Admittedly, he has just one victory this year, and even that came way back at COTA; however, even though he has yet to win another one since then, Allmendinger has been in excellent form.
To put it into a perspective of how consistent Allmendinger has been – he has not placed worse than top-nine across the 12 races so far this season. That includes six top-5s and 12 top-10s, and a sixth, eighth, and ninth-place finish in his last three starts.
Although seeing Allmendinger fail to place top-5 across the last three might suggest that he is not in good form ahead of the Charlotte race, that’s only relative to what he has shown so far this year. In comparison, the current second-best driver of the season (Noah Gragson) has managed just eight top-10s.
As a driver that has always found himself in the mix to win all races of 2022, Allmendinger deserves some respect ahead of this weekend’s race. We have to note that he could only manage 33rd here last spring.
Ty Gibbs
Ty Gibbs heads to Charlotte as the no.2 on the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series standings and is one of the main drivers to watch. It’s not hard to figure out that Gibbs will be one of the favorites to win the 13th race of the season, both due to his solid form over the season and his past success here.
Gibbs is statistically the most successful driver of the Alsco Uniforms 300 in Charlotte, seeing how he has won the race in 2021. Moreover, he has achieved plenty already this season and is the only driver to win more than one race.
Gibbs won in Las Vegas and Atlanta and added his third victory in Richmond. Since then, he has collected two top-10s and a bronze medal at the Dover but could only manage a 16th and 12th-place finish in the last two starts.
But despite his lack of success across the last two weeks, Gibbs is a threat to win the Alsco Uniforms 300 largely due to his ability to deliver on similar tracks. Will he manage to defend his victory from 2021 is anyone’s guess, mainly due to how stacked the field is, but Gibbs definitely has the tools to do it.
Justin Allgaier
Ranked fourth in the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series, Justin Allgaier is one of the most appealing NASCAR picks for the 2022 Alsco Uniforms 300. He has been in great form throughout the seasons, but it seems like he has recently found some serious traction.
He won just one race this year, but that victory came in Darlington, so it wasn’t long ago that Allgaier stood on the top podium. Moreover, he has placed second at the Dover and was fourth in Texas.
With those results, Allgaier is now at five top-5s and seven top-10s, which aren’t the best figures, but he has been the most consistent driver since the Dover. The only thing that could concern you is his inconsistency at Charlotte.
He placed 11th here last year, fifth in 2020, second in 2019, and 32nd in 2018. Still, with two top-5s over the last three years, it’s fair to say that the Charlotte Motor Speedway suits him.
Alsco Uniforms 300 Betting Trends
- Kyle Busch is the most successful driver at Alsco Uniforms 300 with six wins, which is double the second-best driver (Mark Martin).
- Roush Fenway Racing is the most successful team of Alsco Uniforms 300 with six wins, but not one since 2011.
- Of the remaining teams, Joe Gibbs Racing has been the most consistent of late, with five all-time wins, including from 2020 and 2021.
- Ford and Chevrolet historically do well in Charlotte with 12 and 11 wins, respectively.
- Toyota cars have been the most impressive in Charlotte over the last decade, with wins from 2013, 2016, 2020, and 2021.
Alsco Uniforms 300 Betting Predictions
With so many great drivers entering the race, it’s hard to pick the clear favorite. Still, we can’t look past Justin Allgaier as our preferred NASCAR betting pick.
Admittedly, he hasn’t been the best driver of the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series, but he is not that far off from claiming that tag. With 423 points to his name, a couple of good showings could see Allgaier rise up the standings and overtake Gibbs, Gragson, and Allmendinger, and it’s not too crazy to think he can do it.
Allgaier is in exceptional form ahead of the Charlotte race, having placed second at Dover, won the Darlington race, and claimed a fourth-place finish in Texas. Allgaier is also the sixth-best driver in Charlotte, with an average finish of sixth across the three races, although he has not led one lap across the three starts.
Nevertheless, Allgaier has shown enough of late for us to believe he can come out on top and claim the second victory of the season. Allgaier is an excellent pick at the offered NASCAR odds and the only bet we’re ready to take for the 2022 Alsco Uniforms 300.
Prediction: Justin Allgaier to win
