Truck Series: Clean Harbors 150 Betting Analysis and Predictions

The NASCAR Truck Series heads to Knoxville Raceway, Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, June 18, for the 2022 Clean Harbors 150. It will mark only the second edition of the race and the 13th race of the NASCAR 2022 schedule. Check the Clean Harbors 150 Betting Picks below.

The 36 participating drivers will race on the 0.5-mile (0.8km) semi-banked dirt oval raceway in what promises to be one of the most unpredictable and exciting races of the season. But not only is 2022 Clean Harbors 150 a race no NASCAR fan should miss, but also an event with plenty of excellent betting opportunities.

In this betting preview, we will take a look at a few and provide you with our NASCAR betting tips and predictions for the upcoming dirt race.

Clean Harbors 150 Betting Picks

Ben Rhodes

Ben Rhodes heads to Knoxville as the current NASCAR Truck Series leader, with 444 points, which sits him only five above Chandler Smith. He has won one race in Bristol but has not achieved much since, with only four top-10s across the next five races.

Moreover, in two of those races (Darlington and Texas), Rhodes has finished 25th or worse, while he placed 18th last weekend as Sonoma. Obviously, Rhodes is not nearly as efficient as he was early into the season, but there is a good reason why he is one of the favorites to win the crown.

His recent slump is slightly concerning, but given his talent and the equipment he has, Rhodes is never to be underestimated. Moreover, he drove well here in 2021, when he placed seventh despite starting the race from 18th.

Chandler Smith

The 2022 Clean Harbors 150 is a unique race, making it difficult to decide on NASCAR picks. However, that is because we have very little information on how the drivers will do on dirt tracks, but we know one thing – Chandler Smith was second here last year.

Smith started the 2021 Corn Belt 150 from 10th place, but he didn’t need long to get himself in front. He rose to ninth in Stage 1, fell behind in Stage 2, and closed the race as runner-up.

Admittedly, he had to admit defeat to Austin Hill, who won the inaugural Truck Series Race at the Knoxville Raceway. Still, Smith led 71 laps, which tells a lot about his ability to drive on dirt and set himself up for success.

Moreover, Smith is enjoying a solid season. He won in Las Vegas and has since collected five top-5s, including a third-place finish at Toyota 200 and a fifth-place finish from last weekend’s race at Sonoma.

As one of the hottest drivers in the Truck Series and last year’s second-place finisher, Smith is easily one of the favorites to win this weekend. And at the offered NASCAR odds, he is an intriguing choice for anyone who wants to bet on 2022 Clean Harbors 150.

Grant Enfinger

Grant Enfinger sits in ninth place on the 2022 NASCAR Truck Series standings with just 344 points – 100 less than the current leader Rhodes. Still, Enfinger has shown improvement of late.

After a streak of sub-top-10 finishes across the opening three races, Enfinger woke up and collected three straight top-10s at COTA (10th), Martinsville (8th), and Bristol (8th), and followed that up with three top-5s across the next four.

He placed third at Darlington and Kansas, 11th in Texas, and second in North Carolina. Admittedly, his incredible streak ended in Madison, where he landed in 28th, and he could only manage 11th last weekend. Still, two shaky results don’t necessarily mean that Enfinger should be overlooked.

Given the nature of the upcoming race, past results this season don’t necessarily mean much, and we have to put a lot more weight on the figures from previous dirt races. So it’s fair to mention that Enfinger finished 2021 Corn Belt 150 in third place. Even more impressive is that he started that race way back in 26th!

Clean Harbors 150 Betting Trends

Since the Clean Harbors 150 is only the second edition of the race in the Truck Series, there is little to no information we have about it. Austin Hill, who won here in 2021, won’t attend the race, while Smith and Enfinger, who placed second and third, will, making them favorites to produce another solid showing.

It’s also worth pointing out that Toyota was by far the most successful manufacturer of the 2021 race, with three cars on the podium and a total of seven ars inside the top-8. The only exception was Todd Gilliland, who placed fourth with Ford.

Clean Harbors 150 Betting pick and prediction

As a dirt race, the 2022 Clean Harbors 150 presents us with an intriguing challenge to figure out which driver to pick to win the race. Unlike other races, the Knoxville Raceway offers a unique set of challenges that not all drivers can handle.

Still, if we go by past results on dirt tracks, it’s tough not to look at Smith and Enfinger as two obvious NASCAR betting choices. Yet out of the two, we favor Smith, who was phenomenal on the track last year.

Even though he did not win, he led for 71 laps of 179, which is definitely worth praise. He was a bit unlucky at the end, and now he has an excellent chance to improve the impression. At the offered NASCAR odds, Smith is a clear choice in our book as one of the most-in form drivers in the Truck Series and a driver who has proven he can deliver on dirt.

Prediction: Chandler Smith to win.
