Last weekend’s Xfinity Series PitBoss 250 at Circuit of the Americas (CoTA) was dominated by NASCAR Cup series regulars.
A.J. Allmendinger returned to the Xfinity Series and dominated the entire weekend, being the fastest in practice, qualifying, winning stage 1 and the final stage, leading 28 of 46 laps to do so.
Allmendinger was followed home by William Byron, who has to be a betting favorite on any series, while 2022 Xfinity Series Drivers’ Champion and 2022 race winner at Richmond, Ty Gibbs, finished third.
However, with no Cup Series regulars confirmed to participate in the Xfinity Series this weekend and a return to oval racing, we’ll have a clear picture of the field after Saturday.
We’ll review recent results, past winners, and the current NASCAR odds in our Toyota Care 250 betting preview.

Recent Results
There is a long history of major NASCAR names who have won the Xfinity Series race at Richmond, including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, and Kyle Busch.
However, with the Cup Series drivers focused on one race on the NASCAR schedule, we only have two past winners at Richmond in the field.
Stewart-Haas Racing-Ford’s Cole Custer won at Richmond in 2019, while JR Motorsports-Chevrolet’s Justin Allgaier won at Richmond back in 2020.
Ready, Set, Go! The ToyotaCare 250 Prediction
Notably, no Cup Series regulars are listed in the odds to consider for our Xfinity Series predictions.
With only the Xfinity Series regulars in the field, who are we favoring for our Toyota Care 250 betting pick to win at Richmond?
Austin Hill
Austin Hill is the current leader in the Xfinity Series NASCAR standings but is coming off a disappointing 37th-place finish at CoTA. With three race wins on the season and five top-five finishes this season, you can expect Hill to bounce back after a poor showing and be back at the front and contending for the race win.
Riley Herbst
While he has very long odds compared to the other drivers featured in our odds, Riley Herbst is currently second in the Drivers’ standings and has done so with consistency, finishing in the top ten in all six Xfinity Series races this season with two top-five finishes. While Herbst hasn’t cracked the top three yet, consistently being at the front and being in the mix will eventually land Herbst on Victory Lane.
Justin Allgaier
Justin Allgaier has to be one of our picks to win at Richmond. Allgaier has three podium finishes, three stage wins, and four top-five finishes this season. Allgaier was close to victory in Phoenix, winning both stages before dropping to 36th in the final stage. If anyone is due an Xfinity Series race win, it’s Allgaier, and we like his chances.
Josh Berry
While he’s listed at the same odds as Hill, Josh Berry is a sneaky pick to potentially win this race. Berry has finished in the top eight in the last five races but hasn’t cracked the top three. However, consistency has Berry ninth in the Drivers’ standings and poised for his first win in 2023.
Who Will Win the ToyotaCare 250?
- Our NASCAR Xfinity Series pick to win is long-shot Josh Berry.
