The Chicago Bulls try to snap a six-game losing skid when they host the Brooklyn Nets for an Eastern Conference showdown on Friday night. Chicago has fallen outside of the top 10 of the Eastern Conference, trailing the Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards by 2.5 games heading into Friday’s action.
Brooklyn went into the All-Star break off a win over the Miami Heat on February 15 and is in fifth place in the East, two games behind the fourth-place Cleveland Cavaliers. This should be one of the more interesting NBA matchups of the evening, so let’s take a closer look at the contest and the Nets vs. Bulls odds and determine some wagers you’d like to make.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Chicago Bulls Betting Preview
Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets have been in flux all season long, but especially of late, with the dealing away of stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving at the trade deadline. Still, despite losing those stars, the Brooklyn Nets standings spot hasn’t changed drastically, as they are firmly in the middle of the playoff picture in the East.
Forward Mikal Bridges, who came to the Nets in the Durant deal, has been the go-to guy for the new-look roster. Bridges is averaging 25.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals since coming to Brooklyn.
Guard Cam Thomas has become a top-scoring threat as well, averaging 26.5 points per game in February, including a three-game run in which he scored at least 43 points in each contest. Thomas is still far down in the NBA player stats for scoring, but his play since Irving asked for a trade and stopped playing for Brooklyn has been outstanding.
Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls odds of making the postseason are slipping away with each loss, so the team needs a turnaround in a hurry. The Bulls are in the bottom half of the NBA team stats when it comes to scoring, averaging 113.1 points, despite having a pair of high-powered wings.
All-Star forward DeMar DeRozan leads the Bulls with 25.4 points and 5.1 assists per game, but the 33-year-old may be wearing down a bit. In the six games he’s played in February, DeRozan is averaging 18.3 points, failing to reach 20 points in five of the six contests.
Guard Zach LaVine is scoring 24.0 points per game while also averaging 4.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists. LaVine had 38 points when the Bulls last played the Nets on February 9, and he’s capable of another offensive explosion in this one.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Chicago Bulls Betting Picks
Looking at Friday’s contest, it is one of the most unpredictable on the NBA schedule. The Nets vs Bulls odds give slumping Chicago the edge, and the Bulls are 16-13 at home, but it’s hard to pick a team that has lost six in a row. Despite that, we do like Chicago to pull this one out, simply because it has more star power, and those stars have had some rest over the All-Star break.
These teams combined for 221 points in their last meeting, but we think they’ll exceed that in this one after so many days off. Take the over when you’re making your NBA bets.
