Denver Nuggets Betting Analysis
Denver has played a quality brand of basketball over the past week. They defeated the teams they were supposed to beat and did so in an impressive fashion.
Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with a double-double on Monday. The superstar center tallied 26 points and 15 rebounds to go along with seven assists. Will Barton and Jeff Green both added 17 points apiece.
Despite their winning ways as of late, the Nuggets have only covered the spread once out of their last four attempts. They have been allowing teams to remain in games before the Nuggets pull away late in the contest.
The majority of sportsbooks had Denver listed as an 11.5 point favorite against Orlando, and they narrowly failed to cover the spread in their 121-111 victory.
They will look to earn another victory in a difficult road matchup against the Warriors on Wednesday night.
Golden State Warriors Betting Analysis
The Warriors have labored from a defensive perspective in recent games. They have allowed 111 or more points in four straight games and have only won once during that stretch.
Golden State entered Monday’s game against the Clippers as 5.5-6.5 point favorites according to different sportsbooks. But the Clippers easily upset those odds as they ended up winning the game.
The Warriors were led by Stephen Curry, who scored 33 points on eight three-pointers. Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole both contributed as well, with 13 points each. But the offense was able to only produce 104 points while the defense surrendered 119 points to a Clippers squad that does not exactly feature an elite offensive unit.
Golden State’s defensive woes are concerning. However, there is hope on the horizon as Draymond Green is expected to return sometime after the all-star break, and young center James Wiseman could make his return in March. Both players would add a major boost to the defensive side of the ball.
But for now, Golden State will attempt to shut down Jokic and the Nuggets at home. Or they will need to lean on their offense to carry them to a win.
Team Updates
Steve Kerr commented on the Warriors’ recent string of play by stating, “Our defense has just been bad.” And that sums it up. Golden State has been unable to consistently contain opponents, which has led to poor play over the last week or two.
Denver’s Nikola Jokic could be in line for another big game as the Warriors do not feature much of a threat in the post. His performance will be the key to leading the Nuggets to a win.
- Golden State is 29-25-4 ATS this season.
- Denver is 26-31 ATS this year.
- The Warriors are 17-12-2 ATS at their home arena.
- The Nuggets are 15-16 ATS on the road.
- Golden State is 23-19-4 ATS as a favorite.
- Denver is 12-12 ATS as an underdog.
Nuggets at Warriors Betting Preview
There is a part of me that wants to recommend taking the Nuggets as road underdogs on Wednesday. They have been the better team as of late, and Jokic should be in store for a huge performance.
But the fact is that the Warriors are the best team in the NBA when playing at home. Their 26-5 record at Chase Center truly speaks for itself. And while Denver owns an above .500 record on the road this season, it is difficult for any team to come out on top against the Warriors in San Francisco.
If you want to take a shot on Denver in this one, it would not be the worst pick in the world, but I have to recommend rolling with the Warriors at home.
Nuggets at Warriors Betting Prediction
Bet on the Golden State Warriors.
Nuggets and Warriors Prediction
The majority of top sportsbooks have Golden State listed as around a 5.5 point favorite. It will be a difficult spread to cover, but Golden State has been tremendous at covering the spread at home in addition to their league-leading win-loss record at home.
