The free agent market is essentially frozen right now, as multiple NBA teams are lining up to try and trade for Kevin Durant, who has reportedly requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets.

Possible Deal Between Durant and the Suns
A lot of NBA odds suggest that Durant could end up with the Phoenix Suns, though they lack the assets that the Nets would like in return.
As time goes on, a lot of those teams could just end their pursuit of Durant, which will allow teams to pursue free agents as normal.
A lot of NBA expert picks also signal that Durant could simply end up staying in Brooklyn, which would probably be the wisest move for both parties.
NBA Free Agency Latest Deals
The Denver Nuggets seem to be operating under the belief that they’re not in on Durant, as they signed new acquisition Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to a two-year, $30 million extension.
The Boston Celtics also added Danilo Gallinari on a two-year, $13.3 million deal, as they hope he’ll help space the floor even further for the defending Eastern Conference champions.
Damian Lillard proved his loyalty to the Portland Trail Blazers as he signed a two-year, $122 million extension that’ll take him through the 2026-27 season unless he opts out of the final year of his deal which appears highly unlikely.
Anfernee Simons also agreed to a new deal with the Blazers, signing for four years and $100 million.
Kyrie Irving decided to opt into the final year of his contract with the Nets, as he’ll be making $36.5 million.
Nic Claxton re-signed with the Nets on a two-year, $20 million contract, hoping to establish himself as an elite rim protector and finisher at the rim.
Patty Mills is also re-signing with the Nets on a two-year, $14.5 million deal.
Bruce Brown left Brooklyn to sign with the Denver Nuggets on a two-year, $13 million deal, as he should thrive off of Nikola Jokic’s playmaking and bring defensive intensity.
Knicks Deals
The New York Knicks signed Jalen Brunson to a four-year, $104 million deal to name him as their new starting point guard, as Brunson has proven he can light it up as a scorer and set the table as a playmaker.
The Knicks also signed Mitchell Robinson to a four-year, $60 million deal.
Long Time Deals
James Harden agreed to a two-year deal with a player option with the Philadelphia 76ers, as he will be paid $32 million next season, which is $15 million less than he would’ve made had he opted in.
Bradley Beal agreed to a five-year, $251 million deal to stay with the Washington Wizards as he hopes to bring winning basketball back to the nation’s capital.
Ricky Rubio agreed to a three-year, $18 million contract to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, as both sides hoped for a reunion after he got traded to the Indiana Pacers last season.
Gary Payton II signed a three-year, $28 million deal with the Portland Trail Blazers after winning a championship with the Golden State Warriors.
Malik Monk signed a two-year, $19 million deal to join the Sacramento Kings. John Wall signed a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers as he hopes to compete for a championship; the deal is worth $13.5 million.
Fresh off winning back-to-back MVPs, Nikola Jokic signed a five-year, $264 million extension with the Denver Nuggets.
Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves agreed to a four-year, $224 million extension as he hopes to bring a championship to the Twin Cities.
NBA’s Most Improved Player Deal
Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies agreed to a four-year contract worth $226 million, as he was named the NBA’s Most Improved Player.
Devin Booker signed a four-year, $224 million extension to stay with the Phoenix Suns, keeping him in the desert for a long term.
Zach LaVine signed a five-year, $215 million contract to stay with the Chicago Bulls as he hopes to bring winning basketball back to the Windy City.
- Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans agreed to a five-year, $193 million contract.
- Darius Garland agreed to a five-year, $193 million deal with the Cavaliers.
- Jusuf Nurkic and the Trail Blazers agreed to a four-year, $70 million deal.
- P.J. Tucker and the Sixers agreed to a three-year, $33.2 million deal.
- Bobby Portis and the Milwaukee Bucks agreed to a four-year, $49 million contract.
- Tyus Jones and the Memphis Grizzlies agreed to a two-year, $30 million deal.
Biggest Free Agent
The biggest free agent that is available is Deandre Ayton, as the Suns appear to be waiting to see what happens to Durant out on the market. The Indiana Pacers are looking to be a likely landing spot, however.
Collin Sexton is also still available as a restricted free agent, as it appears uncertain he’ll be back with the Cavaliers.
