The Golden State Warriors (23-5) travel to the east coast to battle the Boston Celtics (14-14) on Friday night at the TD Garden. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 P.M. EST
Golden State remains deadlocked with Phoenix for first place in the Western Conference heading into Friday’s action. The Warriors are 7-3 over their past 10 contests including a 105-96 victory last time out in New York against the Knicks.
The Celtics have limped to a 4-6 record in their past 10 games. However, they were able to take down the talented Milwaukee Bucks in their last game on Monday.
Warriors at Celtics Stats
Looking at the Warriors stats
The all-time three-point record is officially broken, and things can return to normal for Stephen Curry and the Warriors. Curry himself noted that it was a distraction which led to struggles for him and his team.
But in the end, “struggling” for the Warriors is still tremendous play for most other teams.
For the season, Curry is averaging 26.9 points and 6.1 assists per game. The point guard is now the unquestioned greatest shooter of all-time and will look to add onto his all-time three-point record in Boston.
Draymond Green has been the backbone of this Warriors team. Green has posted 8.3 points, 7.3 assists, and 8 rebounds per contest. However, everything he does for the team does not always show up in the box score.
Whether he is making a screen assist or diving for a loose ball, Golden State would not be where they are today without Draymond Green.
The Warriors rank third in points per game, first in assists per game, third in rebounds per game, third in field goal percentage, and fifth in three-point percentage.
Although they do turn the ball over 15.5 times per game which is 29th in the NBA, Golden State does almost everything else well on offense.
The Warriors also lead the league in defensive efficiency which feels like icing on the cake for this talented squad.
Looking at the Celtics Stats
The Boston Celtics have failed to win on a consistent basis in 2021. The team itself really is not that bad, but their solid individual play has failed to translate into many victories.
Arguably their greatest problem has been their inability to share the ball. Both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are strong isolation players which leads to a stagnant offense with minimal ball movement. As a result, Boston ranks 20th in assists per game.
They are 13th in scoring per game, but the scoring comes in an inefficient manner based on their style of play.
The Celtics are 22nd in field goal percentage and 23rd in three-point percentage as well.
Boston does place in the top half of the NBA in defensive efficiency.
This is a team that needs one more star to compliment Tatum and Brown. That would allow the offense to move at a faster rate and could lead to better looks for everybody on the court. But for now, this current Celtics team will attempt to defeat the Warriors at home.

Who to Bet Golden State Warriors at Boston Celtics
The majority of top sportsbooks have the Warriors projected to win.
I would be hesitant to pick Golden State in this game if the three-point record was still not broken. But since Curry got the job done against the Knicks last time out, I would not be shocked to see the Warriors post a dominant effort with that load taken off.
Take the Warriors -2.5 with your betting pick.
