Ja Morant suspension odds are not currently available, and that is a great thing. NBA predictions being made about any Ja Morant news, though, will not stop. The man has made some questionable decisions over this past year, and folks have questioned a lot about his will to win and his want to be around a team.
There is no question that it played at least some kind of part in the team’s first-round exit, that the losses to the Lakers on the NBA schedule probably may not have happened otherwise.
Ja Morant Suspension: The Latest Developments
The NBA player stats did not suffer all that much, surprisingly, as he returned from his first suspension to play pretty well. Of course, he did still remain a distraction, and all that happened could not just simply unhappen. He made some bad decisions, and it derailed the season of a team who finished #2 in a pretty good conference during the 2022-23 year. The NBA team stats were not great when push came to shove, and that is where the team’s season saw its floundering end earlier than any of us expected.
There will soon be Ja Morant suspension odds, and when they do come out, thoughts on Memphis’ 2023-24 season will arrive. The one who stands to benefit the most from all of this is definitely Tyus Jones.
Bleak Future
From the most talked about the young core in the league to an absolute dumpster fire in the span of just two seasons. The Grizzlies pushed the Golden State Warriors all they could during the 2021-22 playoffs and then got trounced in the opening round by the LakeShow this season.
Dillon Brooks behavior was anything but acceptable, as he became a “fake” tough guy, trying to get under the skin of the others. His shooting was horrific. And it was clear he was ducking responsibility, only talking to the media after real victories.
It is rare to get a LeBron James playoff subtweet, but he laid into Brooks. The bench did not show up for them, and considering the health status of some of their top guys, it wasn’t all that surprising. Ja Morant odds for anything look bad, and this could be the second-coming of Gilbert Arenas.
He has owned up to the mistakes he made as a player, not that it makes it any better. But, as a member of the NBA media, he has been pretty out there. Throwing out wild takes and all, but he is clearly living a better life and as a good role model for his kids.
The Impact on His Family
Thinking about that aspect of it for Morant, who has a young daughter, it’s almost scary. Ja Morant suspension odds mean almost nothing compared to what these types of antics could mean for his family.
His dad was flaunting like he was the second coming of Usher, clearly hungry for some kind of fame. When Ja has been dealing with what he has been, making these choices, it is pretty clear that he doesn’t have the type of discipline from his old man that somebody in his situation would really need.
Better days may not be on the horizon for these days in quite some time, in spite of the fact that their own Jaren Jackson Jr. was named the Defensive Player of the Year for his dominance.
Low Expectations
For a team that has been as good as Memphis Grizzlies the last few years, it feels crazy to write about keeping low expectations. But without Morant, no matter how good they may have been in recent seasons, they will fall.
Losing Brooks opens up another roster spot for them, and plenty of guys they can bring in. The return of Steven Adams won’t mask some of the other issues the team clearly already has.
Other squads who may have been a little down over the past season will surge up and overtake these guys in the NBA standings. Winning has never been easy, and it will show true for Memphis without the suspended Ja.
