Looking at any 2023 NBA Finals MVP odds means that you find out just how great Nikola Jokic is. With the type of season he is coming off of having, it is wild that he truly did come second place in the NBA MVP voting. He is one of the toughest NBA matchups in the NBA, and when the Nuggets are the ones on your NBA schedule, it is almost always going to be a nightmare to try and defeat them.
Adding him and Jamal Murray together pretty much ensures that the team is not going to just get beaten but that they will be the ones doing the beating.
Game Changer
The NBA Finals MVP prediction could still change based on who wins between the Heat and Celtics. They took a game finally, and doing it on the road means they have a chance for their home fans to come to watch once more.
It ensures no sweep in both rounds and allows for the NBA player stats to continue to improve. It looks awfully crazy now that Grant Williams wasn’t playing for a good chunk of the playoffs, what with how effective he has been in recent games.
NBA Finals MVP odds to come in the following section.
Nikola Jokic and Jimmy Butler
Nikola Jokic -180
The heavy favorite at -180, the 2023 NBA Finals MVP odds conversation will begin with Jokic. He averaged a triple-double during the Lakers sweep, making so many incredible shots. He has been wowing us with some new moves seemingly every game. The insane fadeaway three-pointers over the length of Anthony Davis at the end of both the shot and game clock. The sweep was something else, even against a team that barely even got into the postseason at all.
Jokic has been somebody long admired around the league, but it is clear that the national media is trying to pretend they had no idea about this. He leads this for a reason, and he was a 2X MVP prior to this season for good measure, as well. No part of his game seems to be a weakness at this point, as he continues to run up the stats and make sure nobody else in the association can slow him down.
Jimmy Butler +375
After Jokic comes Jimmy Butler, who looked a little sluggish at times in the first closeout game against the Celtics. At +375, Butler is somebody who would totally thrive in the Finals. His game is built for big moments, and he has proven himself as an incredible leader. In the bubble, he was a menace, and the Lakers did not have any single answer for him. Earlier in these playoffs, he dropped 56 points on the No.1 Bucks, who just refused outright to try and double-team him.
The 2023 NBA Finals MVP odds have him so high because of things like that. And while the squad may have looked like the eighth seed that they truly are in that last game, they remain a single victory away from claiming the Eastern Conference crown for the second time in the past four campaigns.
Some of the Others
Jayson Tatum +500
Despite still needing to win three in a row to stay alive, Jayson Tatum’s stock seems to be pretty high. He is No.3 at +500, and he did have some good moments in the 2022 Finals.
It obviously did not work out for the C’s, as they lost to the Warriors in five, but No.0 had some good leader moments. Owning the record in scoring for both the play-in and a game 7 is no small feat, as this guy has both of those things to his name.
Other Players Shaking Up the MVP Race
- Among some of the others is Jamal Murray at +1800, a great value bet.
- Jaylen Brown comes in next with NBA odds that are not so good, should the team actually get there. Brown is +2500 to claim it.
- Bam Adebayo is at +3300, with every other player’s odds being no better than +15000.
These seem to be the favorites, though nobody would have had Andre Iguodala taking it before the series in 2015. Anything can happen.
