Sacramento Kings Game 1 Matchup Preview
The Kings’ NBA schedule begins with a matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers, with talented players on display on both sides.
De’Aaron Fox vs. Damian Lillard
De’Aaron Fox vs. Damian Lillard is going to be the matchup everyone will be talking about, as both guards are explosive, quick, and have the ability to light up any scoreboard.
Both teams have a great amount of depth to make this a competitive basketball game as well. The Kings odds of winning this game are decent.
2022 Sacramento Kings Schedule
The Kings have a tough schedule to begin the season, as they’ll be facing off against teams like:
- Portland Trail Blazers
- Los Angeles Clippers
- Golden State Warriors (twice)
- Memphis Grizzlies
- Miami Heat (twice)
- Cleveland Cavaliers
The easiest opponent they’ll face will be the Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic.
The Kings odds of winning a lot of games are iffy as it is, as it’s going to be very hard for them to get the season off on the right foot, especially when you consider the time it takes for a new roster to come together.
Sacramento Kings Season Props
The Kings over/under win total is currently sitting at 33.5. That seems about fair, given the new talent that is coming on this roster.
NBA Player Stats
Domantas Sabonis is one of the better all-around players in the NBA, as it’s his ability to score, pass and rebound that gives him great all-around NBA player stats.
De’Aaron Fox is also one of the better point guards in the league with his ability to score and pass, as he is also one of the speediest players the NBA has to offer.
Sacramento Kings 2022 Season Odds
The Kings odds of being among the best in the NBA standings are iffy at best. Let’s examine what they could accomplish this season and how they could match up against some of the other teams in the league.
Kings 2022 NBA Title Odds
A championship appears to be out of reach for the Kings at this time. This isn’t the same team that almost made the Finals in 2002 when they had:
- Chris Webber
- Peja Stojakovic
- Mike Bibby
Leading the way.
The teams that are expected to be chasing the NBA championship this season are:
- Brooklyn Nets
- Milwaukee Bucks
- Boston Celtics
- Golden State Warriors
- Los Angeles Clippers
Sacramento Kings Playoff Odds
The Kings could get to the playoffs this season, but it would likely have to come via the play-in tournament.
They would have to earn a better record than:
- Golden State Warriors
- Los Angeles Clippers
- Los Angeles Lakers
- Minnesota Timberwolves
- Denver Nuggets
- Dallas Mavericks
- Memphis Grizzlies
- New Orleans Pelicans
- Phoenix Suns
- Portland Trail Blazers
Their NBA team stats probably won’t be better than any of those teams, so making the playoffs will be tough.
But the Kings should be a much better team than in years past and finally have some momentum into being a playoff team, as the core of De’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, and Keegan Murray should be enough to bring some excitement.
If this group can find chemistry and lean on vets such as Harrison Barnes and Malik Monk for scoring, a spot in the play-in tournament is certainly within reach.
Sacramento Kings Pacific Division Division Odds
With the Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, and Phoenix Suns all standing in their way, it’s very hard to see how the Kings can win the division over any of those teams.
They are almost certainly finishing last in the Pacific Division this season, as the competition in front of them are legitimate title contenders.
Sacramento Kings Western Conference Championship Odds
Coming out of the West for the Kings is extremely unlikely, as pretty much every team in the conference will be better than them.
Their head coach, Mike Brown, is starting his first season as the Kings’ head coach, so it’ll take a while for him to figure out his new group.
