Bruce Pearl has himself a talented team that returns seven key players from a season ago. The Tigers scored 72.8 points per game a season ago, which is something they would love to improve on, and play faster. Lost from last year’s team are Wendall Green Jr and Allen Flanigan, who combined for nearly 24 points per game.
Returning though are talented forwards Johni Broomie and Jaylin Williams. Broome scored 14 points and ripped down 8 rebounds per game last season, while Williams added 11 points per game. The guards, K.D. Johnson, Tre Donaldson and Lior Berman are looking to pick up some of the slack.
The Tigers are picked sixth in the SEC. Much of that will depend on the progress of five star freshman Aden Holloway. He is the highlight of the recruiting class, and a candidate to be the starting point guard. Deep and Dynamic Guard Lineup
The Bears look to be a deep team this season, and will have some new guards that will see how they can handle the pressure of the Big 12. The guards that Baylor have can put the ball on the floor and attack the basketball, and also hit shots and dish to open shooters. That is no surprise for a Scott Drew coached team.
The Baylor Bears basketball roster will be led by RayJ Dennis, who scored nearly 20 points per game a season ago at Toledo. Dennis is a great basketball player with excellent leadership qualities. He will make up for the loss of L.J. Cyrer and Keonte George. Jayden Nunn is another new face for the Bears. He comes from VCU, where he scored just shy of 10 points per game.
Ja’Kobe Walter is a promising freshman that was very good in the overseas tour the team took. Jalen Bridges and Yves Missi should round out the starting lineup for the Bears. Baylor will take on John Brown, Gardner-Webb and UMKC over the next week or so, before a trip to Oregon State on November 22nd.
