As the summer starts to move along, and we find ourselves closer and closer to the start of the College Basketball season, it’s a good time to take a look at the updated look at the conferences.
Many programs change from one conference to another, and we are here to help you track who moved here. Before you start making your NCAAB predictions today, Here is the NCAA basketball conference realignment heading to the 2024-2025 season:
Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners to the SEC
A pair of Big 12 schools that had a long history in the conference are gone. The Longhorns and Sooners, despite being rivals on the court, had a bond together to both head to the SEC. While football, is a great deal for those two programs, not sure it will be an advantage on the hardwood.
Neither team comes in the Top 25 of NCAAB odds to win the title in 2025. Texas is listed at +6500, while Porter Moser and his Sooners fall way down the list at +15000. Oklahoma is with teams like South Carolina, Georgia Tech and West Virginia.

UCLA Bruins, USC Trojans, Oregon Ducks, Washington Huskies to the Big 10
Well, the Big Ten used to be a pretty midwest centered conference. Then, Maryland, Penn State, and Rutgers joined and it spread to the East Coast. Now, the conference will span the entire country as four teams from the Pacific time zone will join in. The UCLA Bruins obviously have a huge history of successful College Basketball, but as of late none of these four programs have been burning down the college basketball doors.
The UCLA Bruins have the best odds to win the title of any of these four NCAAB teams. The Bruins are tied with Tennessee at +4500. Oregon comes in next +6500, USC is at +8000, and Washington is given nearly no chance, at +12000.
Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils, Utah Utes and Colorado Buffaloes to the Big 12
Tommy Lloyd and his Arizona Wildcats probably are the biggest threat here in the Big 12. Arizona has had some great basketball over the recent NCAAB schedule. But, despite that, a scary one could be Coach Hurley in the Big 12! The Utah Utes have some fun basketball history but need to regroup some of that magic over the years. Colorado had some talent last season, but going back to the Big 12 could prove to be too much for them.
The Arizona Wildcats are just inside the Top 10 in betting odds to win it all. Arizona is +2500 Arizona State is listed next, but a massive underdog at +15000. Utah and Colorado are behind both of them and listed at +20000.

California Golden Bears, Stanford Cardinal, and SMU Mustangs in the Atlantic Coast Conference
If you need something to make all this NCAA basketball conference realignment LOOK bad – this is it right here. The Atlantic Coast Conference with a pair of teams from the Pacific Coast, and a middle of Texas school here. Neither of these three programs appears to be any type of realistic threat in the immediate college basketball future.
Washington State Cougars and Oregon State Beavers to West Coast Conference
This is an odd basketball-only move, but it makes sense. The Mountain West Conference or West Conference conference is a great fit for both programs. Neither appears to be on the cusp of greatness anytime soon. What that means though is Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s are going to get a couple of programs that should be able to compete with them. It would be nice to see some competition on the basketball court out of the West Coast Conference.
