Long Island University Sharks take on the St. John’s Red Storm for one of the interesting northeast NCAA basketball games today.
St. John’s comes into this one as one of the more impressive teams in the country thus far. At 7-0, St. John’s has a real chance of being ranked within the top 25 if they can keep this up.
Their NCAAB schedule has also been impressive, so being ranked isn’t far-fetched. LIU comes into this one playing below-average basketball on the season at 1-4.
Another performance that they put up against Northern Illinois in their most recent game will likely see them lose by 30-plus points.
Let’s break it down with our Long Island University Sharks vs t. John’s Red Storm’s odds and find the edge in this game.

The moneyline is out of play, but the Long Island vs St John’s odds see St. John’s as a -20000 favorite.

Long Island University vs. St. John’s Betting Preview
St. John’s comes into this game as arguably one of the best NCAA basketball teams in the country, and at the moment, they’re the best in the northeast. There are still areas that the Red Storm needs to figure out.
However, their wins in the season are impressive. St. John’s has wins over Nebraska, Temple, Syracuse, Niagra, and Lafayette. Their other wins were also impressive against some mid-major programs.
St. John’s NCAAB Standings
The St John’s NCAAB standings are impressive, and they can continue climbing them with more impressive wins.
St. John’s has some of the better college basketball players in the country, and the one guy I’m looking for in this one is Joel Soriano.
Soriano comes into this game after an insane 21-point and 19-rebound performance against Niagra in 33 minutes.
With another performance like this, and he will find himself in a great spot heading into Big East play. Despite their slow start, LIU also has players that have impressed this season.
High-Level Mid-Major Player
RJ Greene is showing some signs of being a high-level mid-major player as the 6’6” freshman guard is coming off two double-digit scoring performances in a row. He’s also had at least two steals in his last three games.
When playing a team like St. John’s, LIU is going to need to figure it out offensively, and he’s a player that can catch fire.
While it still might be early in his career, he has the potential to change this game if he comes out and does his thing.
Both teams’ college basketball injury report is clean, meaning we should see a fun game on Tuesday night.
Long Island University vs. St. John’s Betting Prediction and Pick
We’re now here with our Long Island vs St John’s odds and best bet. The best bet in this game is going to be taking St. John’s -30.5.
Although 30.5 points is a ton to give at this point in the season, I haven’t been too impressed with what LIU has done.
While I think LIU is better than they’re playing, they need to show us that before we can put money on them.
St. John’s Force
St. John’s has been an absolute force to start the season, and I expect them to keep doing that. Another bet that I love in this game is Under 153.
St. John’s can score 100 points in this game, and I still don’t have confidence in LIU scoring 53.
If St. John’s comes out and does what they can on both sides of the basketball, there’s no chance they lose this game.
This is one of those games where St. John’s would have to play their worst, and LIU would have to play their best. The college basketball standings favor St. John’s, and that will stay true on Tuesday.
NCAAB Pick: St. John’s -32 (-110)
