Sometimes, it is easy to get down in life, and that is completely fair. Before you get down, just remember how blessed we are at this time of year. We get to watch the NFL Super Bowl in February and then get to watch the entire March Madness bracket in March. This time of year is truly special for sports fans as they all get to make their March Madness bracket predictions.
Is this the year somebody finally beats the March Madness betting odds and predicts a perfect bracket? Probably not, but now is the time to start studying the NCAAB power rankings March Madness. Let’s take a look at some of the teams to watch as next month quickly approaches.
Much More Than a Number
When it comes to the power rankings March Madness, you need to look past the rankings. The AP Poll is a great place to start, but be wary of them when making your March Madness prop bets.
Our power rankings will feature many powerhouses but also many dark horses that nobody wants to see on their March Madness schedule. Will your favorite team make the top 10?
1. Houston Cougars
The Houston Cougars are currently the best team in college basketball and have some of the best March Madness betting odds. With one of the best home records and an undefeated record on the road, this team is scary. Not only are the Cougars are the top of the NET Rankings, but also the AP Poll.
A storyline to follow is that the Final Four will be played in Houston this year. The stars are aligning for the Cougars, who are currently the favorite to win March Madness.
2. Kansas Jayhawks
There is nothing quite like seeing a team go back-to-back. The “Blue Bloods” have suffered this season, but the Kansas Jayhawks did not get the memo. They are 23-5 and one of the hottest teams in all of basketball. Playing in the best conference right now–the Big 12, the Jayhawks have only lost once in their last nine games. That came against the Iowa State Cyclones, who are 13-1 at home.
Jalen Wilson is ready to lead his team to the promised land once again. The Texas native would love nothing more than to play in the Final Four in front of his friends and family.
3. Alabama Crimson Tide
Apparently, the Alabama Crimson Tide are not just a football school. The team looks to finish with a better ranking than the football team and turn some heads come March.
Succeeding in March Madness is all about depth, and the Crimson Tide are one of the deepest teams in the country. Currently, they have the 2nd best chance to win March Madness at +800 odds.
4. UCLA Bruins
When it comes to excitement, the UCLA Bruins are one of the most fun teams to watch in college basketball. The second the calendar flips to March, this team turns into a different animal. Even though a Bruin is pretty intimidating, they go from Bruin to a big scary dinosaur.
At 23-4 in a tough Pac-12 conference, UCLA is built for March. The duo of Tiger Campbell and Jaime Jaquez Jr. is just so intimidating. If the Bruins are not going deep in your March Madness predictions, you are doing something wrong.
5. Arizona Wildcats
I am just as surprised as you are at the season the Arizona Wildcats have put together. They do not have Bennedict Mathurin, but they are doing just fine without one of their best players in school history. The duo down low of Azuolas Tubelis and Oumar Ballo has picked up right where Mathurin left off.
Arizona has one of the best offenses in the league and also has 7 Quad 1 wins. With a 7-2 Quad 1 record, now may be the time to throw your money on the +1400 odds to win March Madness.
6. Texas Longhorns
Out of all the top 10 teams in the AP Poll, the Texas Longhorns are tied for the most Quad 1 wins with 8. There has been a lot of drama in the coaching staff, but these players can ball.
Watch out for Marcus Carr come March. The senior guard looks to be on the All-Tournament team as he leads his team to a big run.
7. Baylor Bears
The Baylor Bears are playing very well at just the right time. This team is not as talented as they were a couple of years ago, but they are one of the most well-coached teams in college basketball.
When making the power rankings March Madness, the strength of schedule was a key part of the decision-making process. Baylor has the third toughest schedule in the nation, and they have still strung together 8 Quad 1 victories. A lot of credit goes to head coach Scott Drew.
8. UConn Huskies
It has certainly been a roller coaster of a season for Dan Hurley and the UConn Huskies. From being one of the last remaining undefeated teams to drastically falling off the map, the Huskies are back in a good place.
UConn has had one of the hardest schedules in all of college basketball and plays in the very gritty Big East. With wins over Alabama, Iowa State, and a plethora of quality conference opponents, look out for this team come March. This team will torch you from the outside or they can bully you down low with Adama Sanoga. It is really a case of “pick your poison” when it comes to facing the Huskies.
9. Virginia Musketeers
The Virginia Musketeers are currently ranked No. 6 in the country, and with good reason. They are 21-4 and atop the ACC. Virginia started off the season with all eyes on them after key victories against the Baylor Bears and Fighting Illini but quickly slowed down. In what has been a down year for the ACC, the Musketeers are quietly having a phenomenal season.
Virginia has +2500 odds to walk away with a title this year. With a top defense and a very balanced offense, those are some great odds to hop on at prior to the big dance.
10. Oral Roberts Golden Eagles
This is part of the power rankings March Madness, where we show some love to the mid-majors. Thankfully for college basketball fans, the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles were not a one-hit-wonder. Scoring phenom Max Abmas is back and better than ever, and this team is more talented than they were in 2021 when they made their little run.
Not only do the Golden Eagles have Abmas, but they also have a 7’5 Goliath in Connor Vanover. On top of that, TikTok sensation James Droz just attended an Oral Roberts game. Run away from the Eagles.
