Gonzaga was one seed in the NCAA March Madness Tournament, but they got upset by Arkansas in the Sweet 16.
Timme averaged 18.4 points per game on 58.4 percent shooting to go along with 6.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game last season.
He also earned second-team All-American honors in each of his last two seasons and West Coast Conference player of the year honors last season.
“He’s primed for a big year,” Gonzaga head coach Mark Few said on the College Hoops Today Podcast. “He’s certainly going to get the opportunity. His minutes are going to go up and his touches are going to go up. I think you’ll see a real jump in his productivity.”

One area Timme hasn’t shown much progress in his 3-point shooting, but if Timme truly wants to succeed at the next level, he’ll need to improve in that area.
“He worked hard this offseason on stretching his shooting out past the 3-point line,” Few said. “I think that’s going to show this year.”

Another best player college basketball candidate is Armando Bacot, as he is entering his fourth season with the North Carolina Tar Heels.

He also possesses that athleticism that plays well in the modern NBA, as he can slip off pick and rolls, finish with authority at the rim and protect the rim.
Jaime Jaquez Jr.
Jaime Jaquez Jr. is entering his fourth season with the UCLA Bruins, as he averaged 13.9 points on over 47 percent shooting to go along with 5.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
With his versatile skill set, he can easily help UCLA make another deep run in the tournament, as they got to the Sweet 16 last season.
Trayce Jackson-Davis
Trayce Jackson-Davis will definitely be in the mix, as he averaged 18.3 points on nearly 59 percent shooting to go along with 8.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game last season with the Indiana Hoosiers.
He is an athletic forward who can bully opposing defenders in the post and change the flow of the game just with his energy alone.
Marcus Sasser
Marcus Sasser averaged 17.7 points on nearly 44 percent shooting for the Houston Cougars last season.
Sasser is a great catch-and-shoot specialist from three but he can also create some great looks in isolation despite not having the craftiest dribble.
