TCU at Baylor Betting Analysis
On the Baylor Bears side
Senior running back Abram Smith ran 126 times for 930 yards (7.4 yards per attempt) with 11 rushing touchdowns as well as eight receptions for 62 yards (7.8 yards per catch).
In his last game against the Longhorns, Smith went 21 rushes for 145 yards (6.9 yards per carry) with a rushing touchdown as well as a one-yard catch.
Baylor has been a very good defensive team this season as they are giving up 19.4 points per game. In their previous game against the Texas Longhorns, the Bears allowed 24 points on 382 total yards of offense (280 passing, 102 rushing).
Baylor did a great job of limiting conversions as Texas went 3-of-14 on third downs and 2-of-5 on fourth downs. If they can continue to force punts, they will be in a great spot.
On the TCU Horned Frogs side
Sophomore wide receiver Quentin Johnston has been doing well so far this year as he has 26 receptions for 473 yards (18.2 yards per catch) with five touchdown receptions. In his last game against the Wildcats, he finished with just two catches for five yards (2.5 yards per reception).
TCU has been struggling on the defensive side of the football field as they are allowing a brutal 31.5 points per game.
In their previous game against the Kansas State Wildcats, the Horned Frogs gave up 31 points on 388 total yards of offense (242 passing, 146 rushing). The Wildcats allowed 11.5 passing yards per attempt, so their secondary needs some improvement here.
Horned Frogs at Bears Prediction
The top sportsbooks are keeping this game under the magic number of seven points at this point, which makes the Baylor Bears a lot more attractive.
The Bears are 6-2 against the spread, while the Horned Frogs are just 1-6-1 against the spread thus far. Baylor has been dominating throughout the running game as Smith has 11 rushing touchdowns himself to make the passing game open up even more.
TCU’s defense has been brutal as of late, as they are giving up 37.3 points per game in their last three games. All in all, go with the Baylor Bears to cover by more than a touchdown in this game on the road.
